The Chiefs are riding a six-game winning streak and remain the top choice in the AFC. The Dolphins are 5-2 following a loss to the Eagles, but they still hold the lead in the AFC East and remain in good shape as far as the odds are concerned. Here’s how the AFC seeds would line up based on the current betting odds:
- Bye: (1) Kansas City Chiefs
- (2) Miami Dolphins vs. (7) Pittsburgh Steelers
- (3) Baltimore Ravens vs. (6) Cleveland Browns
- (4) Jacksonville Jaguars vs. (5) Buffalo Bills
The Ravens and Jaguars are both 5-2 and also in control of their respective division races. The Bills fell to 4-3 with an upset loss to the Patriots. The club now has a quick turnaround as it hosts the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football. The Browns have won two straight to get to 4-2 but continue to have injury concerns with Deshaun Watson.
The Steelers hold down the seventh spot after returning from a bye week with a road win over the Rams. The team has won two straight to get to 4-2 and four of five since a Week 1 loss to the 49ers. Behind Pittsburgh, the top contenders for the final spot according to the latest odds are the Bengals, Texans, and Chargers.
Following that group, the Jets are 3-3 and returning from a bye to take on the Giants. At the bottom of the list, the Patriots and Broncos are both 2-5. The two clubs each won last week, but as the odds board suggests, they’re currently being viewed as the also-rans of the conference race.
The most notable AFC matchup for this week is between two contenders as the Jaguars travel to take on the Steelers. On the interconference side, the Chargers are in the primetime spotlight as they welcome the Bears for Sunday Night Football. A win for Los Angeles in front of a national audience could lead to a spike in interest.

The 49ers have dropped two straight to fall to 5-2, but they remain the top betting favorite in the NFC. The Eagles rebounded from an upset loss to the Jets with a convincing win over the Dolphins and are now 6-1 and in control of the NFC East. Here’s what the NFC matchups would be if we used the latest betting lines:
- Bye: (1) San Francisco 49ers
- (2) Philadelphia Eagles vs. (7) New Orleans Saints
- (3) Detroit Lions vs. (6) Seattle Seahawks
- (4) Atlanta Falcons vs. (5) Dallas Cowboys
The Lions remain firmly in control of the third spot in the latest odds, in spite of a blowout loss to the Ravens last time out. The 5-2 club will look to rebound against the Raiders on Monday Night Football. The Falcons are 4-3 and in sole possession of the NFC South lead following a road win over the Buccaneers.
The Cowboys are 4-2 as they return from a bye week to host the Rams. The Seahawks and Saints hold the lead for the final two spots. Lurking behind them are the Vikings, Buccaneers, Rams, and Packers. The odds for Minnesota have been on the rise as the team has won two straight, including an upset over the 49ers last time out.
Toward the bottom of the board, time is starting to tick loudly for the Commanders, Bears, and Giants. Meanwhile, there’s still not much expected out of the Cardinals or the winless Panthers. As a small consolation, the two teams are among the current favorites to earn the top pick at next year’s NFL draft.
There are two NFC matchups early this Sunday that could have an impact on the odds board: the Rams at the Cowboys and the Vikings traveling to take on the Packers. Dallas is a sizable favorite over Los Angeles, while the latest lines see the NFC North showdown as much more evenly matched.
