The defending champion Chiefs opened at 1-0 with a 27-20 home win over the Ravens. Those two squads met in last season’s AFC title game, with Kansas City getting a 17-10 road win.

The Texans kicked off with a 29-27 victory over the Colts. Based on the current odds, here’s how the AFC playoff seeds could shake out.

Interestingly, three of the seven projected seeds opened the campaign with losses. Beyond the Ravens, the Jets lost to the 49ers, and the Bengals were upset by the Patriots.

The latest AFC East division winner odds have the Dolphins slightly ahead of the Bills. We’ll get a better sense of the early season hierarchy when the two teams meet on Thursday Night Football.

Behind the Bengals in the battle for the seventh seed are the Chargers. Los Angeles opened the Jim Harbaugh era with a 22-10 home win over the Raiders.

In addition to TNF, there are a few other AFC vs. AFC games that could shake up the rankings. The Bengals face a stiff test on the road against the Chiefs, while the Browns and Jaguars will square off in a battle of winless teams.

At BetMGM Sportsbook so far, the Chiefs have received the most betting interest to win the conference, attracting 18.4% of tickets and 29.2% of total betting handle to take down the AFC.

The 49ers kicked off the season with a 32-19 home win over the Jets. The Eagles opened with a 34-29 victory over the Packers in Brazil.

The Lions needed overtime to get by the visiting Rams. The Cowboys had a relatively easy time in a road win over the Browns as two-point underdogs.

The Falcons came up short in a home loss to the Steelers but remain the favorites to win the NFC South. They edge out the Cowboys for the fourth seed as a result.

While only one week is in the books, the early playoff betting odds suggest that it could be a competitive race for the final two seeds. The Saints, Seahawks, Bears, and Buccaneers are only separated by a few ticks, with three other clubs not far behind.

The Packers had a rough opening week, and their odds took a hit as a result. In addition to the loss to the Eagles, Jordan Love suffered an MCL injury and could miss a few weeks.

There are several intriguing conference battles on the way this week, including the 49ers versus the Vikings. San Francisco is a -5.5 road favorite in Minnesota, which opened at 1-0 with a 28-6 road win over the Giants.

While the 49ers are the conference favorites, another team is attracting the most betting attention at BetMGM. The Lions account for 34.5% of tickets and 41.1% of the total handle at the online sportsbook for bets to win the conference.
