Favorites to win the 2024 Super Bowl

Futures odds on the winner of the 2024 Super Bowl will continue to evolve as the offseason moves along. For now, five clubs have settled in at the top of the charts.

The defending champion Chiefs are the favorites to win it all once again. They took down the Eagles a season ago, while the 49ers and Bengals made it to the final four. The Bills lost in the divisional round to Cincinnati.

Behind the top five favorites are the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys . The Jets made solid strides last year before collapsing down the stretch, and they are reportedly working on a trade with the Packers to bring Aaron Rodgers to New York. The Cowboys advanced to the divisional round last year before falling to the 49ers.

Best AFC conference winner odds for 2023-24 season

The Chiefs were the AFC champions last season, defeating the Bengals in the title game by a score of 23-20. The two clubs are among the preseason favorites to win the conference.

It’s possible that the Chiefs and Bengals could meet in the AFC title game for the third consecutive season. The Bills have been a top conference contender for the last several seasons, but they have lost in the divisional round the last two years. Behind the top three, the Jets have emerged as the fourth choice on the board, while several clubs are within striking distance of each other for fifth place.

Last season’s AFC playoff seeds

Here are the seven teams that made it to the playoffs last time out from the AFC side of the bracket.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West)
  2. Buffalo Bills (AFC East)
  3. Cincinnati Bengals (AFC North)
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars (AFC South)
  5. Los Angeles Chargers (Wild Card)
  6. Baltimore Ravens (Wild Card)
  7. Miami Dolphins (Wild Card)

According to the current NFL division odds, the Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, and Jaguars are all favorites to repeat. Based on the conference winner odds, the Jets, Chargers, and Dolphins are in the lead for the wild card hunt.

As the betting odds see it, just one of last season’s playoff teams — the Ravens — is not a favorite to make it back this time around. For comparison’s sake, just three playoff clubs from the 2021-22 season qualified for the playoffs last season.

Best NFC conference winner odds for 2023-24 season

At last season’s NFC title game, the Eagles cruised to a 31-7 victory over the 49ers. Preseason betting suggests that the two clubs could be in the mix for conference supremacy once again.

Washington Commanders

Going by the current odds, the Eagles and 49ers could end up squaring off once again to decide the NFC. The Cowboys, who lost to the 49ers in the divisional round last season, are in third place on the board.

The Lions were eliminated from postseason contention on the final day of the regular season, but the club is getting a lot of offseason attention as a potential contender. Following the top four in betting odds, the race appears to be pretty open.

Last season’s NFC playoff seeds

Here were the seven NFC teams that made it to the postseason last year.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (NFC East)
  2. San Francisco 49ers (NFC West)
  3. Minnesota Vikings (NFC North)
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFC South)
  5. Dallas Cowboys (Wild Card)
  6. New York Giants (Wild Card)
  7. Seattle Seahawks (Wild Card)

NFL division odds have the Eagles and 49ers favored to repeat. The Lions are the favorites to win the North, while the Saints are the top choice in the South. If those four teams pull it off, the conference odds favor the Cowboys, Vikings, and Giants as wild card teams.

Add it all up, and the current odds call for a projected turnover of two teams: Buccaneers and Seahawks out, with the Lions and Saints in. For 2021-22 compared to 2022-23, there were four clubs that qualified in both seasons.
