Status of legal sports betting in Georgia
Sports betting is not legal in Georgia. There has been a concerted effort by some state lawmakers to change that in recent years, but has yet to result in change. Most recently, there was a push to advance a package on legalization with the goal of letting voters decide this November.
The initiative fell short on the last day of the session. It has been a similar story with previous attempts, including a 2022 initiative that also came up short on the last day of the session.
