Quick answer: Is Underdog Predict legit?

Yes. Underdog Predict runs through UDM, LLC, a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant and NFA member, with trades settling on CFTC-registered exchanges (its own UDX, as well as Kalshi and Crypto.com|Nadex, depending on the market). Testing found a well-built, sports-only platform: a 4.2/5 overall score, with Banking as the clear standout (4.7/5) and Market Coverage as the one real limitation (3.6/5), since Underdog trades only sports contracts.

The strongest case for Underdog is what happens once you fund an account: a Venmo withdrawal within 24 hours, winnings withdrawable within 30 minutes of a game ending, and clean fills in both crowded and dead markets at a moderate, consistent cost. The honest caveat is that Underdog’s own terms contradict testing twice — once on using bonus funds for Predict picks, once on funding with Venmo — and support leads with an AI agent before a human picks up.

What is Underdog Predict?

Underdog Predict home screen

Underdog built its name on daily fantasy sports, and Underdog Predict is its entry into prediction markets: trading contracts on real-world sports outcomes instead of placing a fixed-payout bet.

Underdog Predict lives inside the same app as Underdog’s DFS Pick’em product, and the two sit close enough together that a trader has to pay attention to tell them apart. That’s a theme that comes up more than once below.

Underdog Predict promotions | 3.8/5

Underdog Predict’s welcome offer right now is “Keep Your Million,” a free-to-play survival game worth up to $1,000,000 in bonus funds, plus a 50% first-deposit match up to $1,000. Use BETLSRPM to activate both.

The bonus is theoretically worth up to $1,000 if you deposit $2,000, but it cannot be used on Predict markets according to Underdog’s own terms. That restriction is most of why this category lands where it does.

Here’s the part that surprised me: I asked a live support agent named Nikola directly, and she confirmed bonus funds do work on Predict entries at 2x payout or better. I’d still check the current terms yourself before counting on it.

Opening my pick slip, I found six live promos to toggle: a $10 Bonus Entry, a 40% NFL Boost, a $250,000 Jackpot, and additional boosts for MLB, WNBA, and soccer. I toggled the $10 Bonus Entry inside an active four-pick slip and watched my potential payout jump from $10 to about $70.90. Applying a separate 40% NFL Boost to a three-pick slip pushed the payout multiplier from 4.87x to 6.41x.

After submitting a slip, Underdog prompted me to share my picks for a chance to earn up to a $2,000 referral bonus. The real value is $10 per referred friend who signs up, deposits, and makes a qualifying pick, plus a 1-in-1,000 shot at that $2,000. None of these promos was labeled as applying specifically to Predict. They live in the Pick’em promos panel, and the wording (“entry,” Standard/Flex) never confirms it.

Underdog promo toggles on pick slip

Generous on paper, blurry in practice

Underdog Predict’s promotions are solid overall, but it’s hard to pin down if and when they actually apply to prediction markets versus the core fantasy Pick’em platform. Because Underdog allows you to blend picks from predictions and DFS into single tickets, it’s not always easy to parse what your promotions are actually doing. I was able to apply my bonus funds to some picks but not others, and it wasn’t always clear exactly why.

There’s no published deposit-match rate beyond the 50% figure; Underdog reserves the right to offer different rates to different players, so there’s no universal benchmark. Beyond the confusing welcome bonus, Underdog earns points from me with its other promotions. “Keep Your Million” is a fun streak-based game: you start with a theoretical $1 million and split it between two picks, keep the money tied to whichever pick wins, and carry that forward through 20 picks total.

It’s a good slate of promotions, and I made full use of several during my testing. The catch, as I’ve said more than once here, is that the promotions focus almost exclusively on fantasy Pick’em. If you want a prediction-specific bonus, Kalshi and Polymarket are clearer about what actually applies.

Why I rated Underdog promotions 3.8/5

A deep, usable promo slate undercut by real ambiguity about what applies to Predict versus DFS Pick’em, and by a welcome bonus that, by its own terms, doesn’t apply to Predict at all.

What you can trade on Underdog Predict: 3.6/5

Underdog Predict stays in its lane: sports only. No politics, crypto, economics, culture, climate, or tech markets exist on the platform, a business choice rather than a regulatory restriction.

I counted roughly 3,300-plus live sports markets across the board. Here’s how the major leagues broke down:

Underdog live tab sport filters
  • NFL: 700+
  • NCAA Football: 600+
  • WNBA: 500+
  • MLB: 500+
  • NHL: 500+
  • Esports: 150+
  • Tennis: 100+
  • MMA/UFC: 100+
  • NCAA Basketball: 80+ futures (off-season)
  • Soccer: 35+
  • CFL: 30+
  • NBA: 10+
  • Motorsports: 10+
  • Cricket: 10
  • Chess: 9
  • Golf: 4
  • Boxing: 3

Fifteen leagues clear a five-market covered floor. Golf runs light, but that’s the nature of a sport with few head-to-head matchups and few real gaps. Horse racing, rugby, Aussie rules, table tennis, darts, volleyball, handball, poker, pickleball, and lacrosse aren’t offered at all.

Settlement disclosure

Every market name that exchanges power: e.g, UDX, Kalshi, Crypto.com | Nadex. In my 16-market disclosure sample, only one of two sampled sports markets was fully disclosed. A Colts-versus-Commanders market named UDX as a specific, independent, objective source, clean on all three counts.

A World Chess Championship market, though, listed “Underdog Predict” itself as the settlement source, which sits awkwardly next to Underdog’s claim that it doesn’t override outcomes. Full rules sit behind the “i” icon on a pick or in the help center, never on the market itself. Worth knowing: Kalshi ignores stat corrections made 24 hours or more after a game ends.

There’s no user-created-market option on Underdog. And because Predict sits inside the same lobby as DFS Pick’em, it’s often genuinely hard to tell which product you’re looking at until you click in.

Differences between Underdog and competitors

Underdog once stood apart by focusing exclusively on sports. Competitors like Kalshi and Polymarket now cover politics, economics, and culture too, so Underdog’s sports-only focus is a real point of difference, not a gap by accident. Underdog could grow by expanding into cricket, rugby, or additional soccer competitions, following the 15-league floor it’s already cleared elsewhere. Basic order-book functionality, which Kalshi and Polymarket already offer, would also be a meaningful addition for traders used to a conventional market.

Built for sports fans, and only sports fans

Depth is the name of the game with Underdog Predict’s sports markets. I found hundreds of markets for the major, high-profile leagues, and you won’t be short on things to trade in those categories. More niche spots are represented to varying degrees, but the genuinely obscure stuff isn’t here.

Underdog is specifically built for sports fans, both in the markets it offers and how it presents them. The platform doesn’t have politics, culture, or other markets that are staples elsewhere. It’s sports, all day, every day, and the prediction picks sit neatly alongside DFS Pick’em options to the point where you often can’t tell which is which until you click through to a market on its own. The real, unfiltered takeaway: Underdog Predict is built for sports fans, full stop.

Why I rated Underdog market coverage 3.6/5

Real depth within sports, undercut by a hard ceiling on breadth and a settlement disclosure sample that wasn’t fully clean.

Underdog Predict deposits, withdrawals, and payout speed: 4.7/5

Underdog supports deposits and withdrawals via ACH/bank transfer, debit card, and digital wallets (Apple Pay, Venmo; the help center also lists Trustly). Credit cards are deposit-only, and withdrawals are routed to debit only. There’s no support for wire transfers, cryptocurrencies, or paper checks.

Method Deposit? Withdraw? Speed (tested)
ACH/bank transfer Yes Yes Up to 72 hours (untested)
Debit/credit card Yes Debit only Up to 48 hours (untested)
Digital wallet Yes Yes 24 hours (tested)

Deposits and withdrawals carry a $10 minimum, and the platform caps out at $100,000. I tried entering $10,000,000 on the deposit screen to see what happened, and got stopped at the stated cap, an easy ceiling to miss since the quick-pick buttons only go up to $250. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees.

Withdrawal & settlement experience

My Venmo withdrawal arrived in 24 hours. Deposits via Apple Pay and Venmo were instant. I placed a $10 bet on a WNBA game (Aces vs. Fever) and checked my account 30 minutes after the game ended; the winnings were already available for withdrawal.

Here’s a real wrinkle: Underdog’s own terms say Venmo and PayPal can’t fund prediction picks. My testing said the opposite. I deposited with Venmo and placed a trade seconds later, with no issue at all. That might come down to having a bank account linked to my Venmo profile, but the help center and my own experience didn’t match.

The exchange fee appears as its own line on the order ticket before you confirm a trade. My tickets showed $0.91 on a UDX-powered trade and $0.21 on a Kalshi-powered trade, for a total of $10.41. Don’t go by the help center’s advertised “$0.01 per contract” figure; the actual amount is what appears on your ticket. Underdog pays no interest on idle cash, caps entries at $250,000 on the markets I tested, and trades in increments as small as $1 with one-cent price steps.

A platform I’d actually trust with my money

Here’s the long and short of it: Underdog is a buttoned-up platform, and I’d trust it with my own money. I deposited twice, once with Apple Pay and once with Venmo, and both hit my account in seconds. One nitpick: Underdog’s terms say it won’t allow Venmo or PayPal funds for prediction markets, and my testing says the exact opposite. That benefits players as far as I can tell, but Underdog should tighten up its terms to match its own practice.

I withdrew to my Venmo account after a market settled and received the funds in 24 hours, about as fast as I’d hope for, and the process was simple throughout. Where Underdog falls a little short is the $10 minimum deposit; it feels high compared to a platform where markets can be traded for as little as $1.

Why I rated Underdog banking 4.7/5

Fast, cheap, and transparent on every method I tested, with fees disclosed on the ticket itself before you confirm, held back only by a $10 minimum that undersells how small a trade can actually be.

What it really costs to trade on Underdog Predict: 4.3/5

I test and rate liquidity here because it answers whether you actually get the price you’re quoted. A $10 trade on Underdog Predict cost me 3.3% round trip in the busiest market I could find.

Liquidity is shorthand for how easy it is to trade a real amount of money without moving the price much. Underdog doesn’t run a traditional order book with visible bid and ask levels, as Kalshi or Polymarket does. Instead, prices are quoted to you the moment you act, with no ladder of resting orders to inspect beforehand.

I tested two markets with a real $10 trade on each. My busy market was Karlbergs BK vs. Sollentuna FF (soccer), quoted at 1.39x (about 68% implied) with roughly $16,000 in 24-hour volume. My quiet market was Valerion to win (esports), quoted at 1.02x (about 96% implied) with roughly $350 in volume.

Underdog soccer market odds and volume before placing a pick
Underdog soccer market odds and volume after placing a pick

Both filled cleanly at the quoted price, with no slippage. I sold the busy-market position back out 10 minutes later, and the round trip, entering and exiting, cost me 3.3%. The quiet market told a similar story: I exited it (sooner than planned, by accident, but a real result either way) for a round-trip cost of 5.2%. On both markets, the Yes and No prices added up cleanly to roughly 100%, and I found no market-maker or liquidity-provision program on the platform.

Tips and strategies for traders

A few things worth knowing before you trade on Underdog or any prediction market. A price already reflects what the market thinks is likely, so the real question is whether you think the true odds are higher or lower than that. Watch for prices that seem off from the news or the matchup; those gaps are where you actually make money, not from picking whichever outcome you personally like.

Don’t feel locked into a position until it settles. If a price moves in your favor early, there’s nothing wrong with selling and taking the gain instead of waiting it out, and the same goes in reverse if a position starts moving against you. It also helps to spread trades across a few markets rather than concentrating everything in one event, and to keep Underdog’s small per-contract exchange fee in mind, since it adds up on frequent small trades.

The price you see is the price you get

Here’s the real answer: yes, it costs money to trade in and out of Underdog Predict’s markets, but not nearly as much as I expected going in. My busy-market soccer trade filled at exactly the quoted price with zero price impact, even though the line was moving live right before I placed it. Selling back out ten minutes later cost me a reasonable 3.3% on that $10 position.

The quiet esports market told a similar story, which surprised me more than the soccer result did. With only a few hundred dollars in volume in that market, I expected a rough fill or a wide gap between the quoted price and what I actually got. Instead, it filled at the quoted price too, and the exit, minutes later, rather than the planned day or two out, came back at 5.2%.

Worth understanding before you trade here: Underdog doesn’t run a traditional buy/sell order book with visible bid and ask levels. Prices are quoted to you at the moment you act, not posted ahead of time for you to pick apart. That’s a different model than Kalshi or Polymarket, where you’re looking at a live book with real depth on both sides. It’s less transparent in theory, but in practice, the quoted price was the price I got, on both a crowded market and a dead one, and the Yes and No sides added up cleanly with no funny business. If you’re coming from Kalshi or Polymarket and worried about getting burned on a thin market here, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

Why I rated Underdog liquidity 4.3/5

A quote-based model that, in practice, delivered the quoted price on both a crowded and a dead market, at a moderate, consistent cost either way.

Underdog Predict customer service: 4.4/5

Underdog offers two official contact channels: live chat (in-app and on the web) and email (support@underdogsports.com). Stated hours aren’t published for either.

My first live chat attempt put an AI agent in front of me. It handled simple questions fine, like deposit methods and minimums, but looped the same boilerplate answer when I asked whether bonus funds could be used on Predict. I asked for a human, and a live agent named Nikola joined the same chat about 15 minutes later with a specific, confident answer: bonus funds work on entries at 2x payout or better. My email reply took 13 hours to come back.

I asked Customer Support a fixed set of five questions:

Question The Answer Was…
A promo/bonus term Correct, specific
A payout/withdrawal rule Correct
A state eligibility detail Correct
A Responsible Trading question Generic, pointed to in-app tools
The dispute-process question Correct, but confirmed there’s no dedicated process

There’s no separate disputes path at Underdog; you go through general support, which reviews your case against the relevant exchange’s rules and coordinates directly with that exchange. If a correction is confirmed, you get it as an account credit rather than a reversal of the original trade, with no stated timeline. Underdog’s terms require a 30-day resolution attempt before formal proceedings, and they include a class-action waiver limiting claims to “an individual basis only and for your own losses only,” filed within one year.

Fast once a human shows up

Underdog’s customer support is easy to find, and in my experience, that’s nothing. There’s an easy way to message support, but it puts an AI agent in front of you first. In my experience, bots are hit-or-miss: good with simple questions, not so good with anything complex. When I asked whether my bonus funds could be used for prediction trades, the agent’s answer was confident but left me confused and without a clear explanation.

After a few minutes of circular answers, I asked to speak to a human, and a real agent picked up that same chat about 15 minutes later with a specific, confident answer, not the boilerplate brush-off I was braced for. That’s a solid turnaround, and it deserves credit. I’d still like to see more prediction-focused support going forward: contacting customer support at Underdog puts you smack in the middle of a DFS platform and a predictions platform, and the time and expertise behind support are split the same way.

Why I rated Underdog customer support 4.4/5

A fast, specific human response once you escalate past the AI agent, dragged down slightly by support that’s visibly split between two different products.

Underdog Predict app and responsible trading tools: 4.5/5

Underdog runs one app, “Underdog Sports,” rated 4.8 stars from roughly 322,000 ratings on iOS and 4.6 stars from 33,900 reviews on Google Play, with more than 1 million downloads. There’s no Trustpilot presence to report.

Desktop and mobile run close to feature parity, though I preferred mobile: geolocation resolved faster there, and the desktop site repeatedly pushed me toward the app with QR codes. I hit zero crashes, freezes, or slow loads across either platform, and markets loaded near-instantly.

Responsible Trading tool Present?
Deposit/funding limit Yes, daily, weekly, or monthly
Loss or exposure limit No
Session/elapsed-time reminder No
Cool-off/trading break Yes, 3 days to 9 months
Self-exclusion Yes, 1, 3, 5, or 10 years, or lifetime
Education/crisis-line signposting Yes, 1-800-MY-RESET and NCPG
Age verification Yes, 18+, enforced at signup

Underdog’s withdrawal page splits funds into withdrawable, non-withdrawable, and bonus balances, so money tied up in an open position never shows as spendable. Monthly and quarterly statements are available, the tax form is a 1099-B, and two-factor authentication is on by default. There’s no self-serve account closure; you have to contact support directly.

Did I like the app?

As software goes, Underdog is genuinely pleasant to use. I didn’t hit a single crash, freeze, or slow load the entire time I tested it, on mobile or desktop, and the navigation never once left me guessing where to go. The one real functional gap is account closure: you can’t do it yourself.

On the Responsible Trading side, the real tools are there, not just claimed on a page somewhere. Deposit limits, cool-off periods, self-exclusion, and crisis-line signposting all work and show up where you’d expect them. Two of the seven canonical tools are missing, though: there’s no loss or exposure limit, and no session reminder, so nothing nudges you mid-session the way a deposit limit nudges you going in. I also didn’t find any disclosed behavioral monitoring system worth a trader’s attention.

On the above-and-beyond side, Regen and the Birches Health partnership are more than a regulator-mandated minimum. It doesn’t feel like Underdog glued Responsible Trading tools onto its platform to check a box. It feels built with real care for the software experience, and a reasonably honest shot at trader protection, with a couple of real gaps left to close.

Why I rated Underdog user experience & responsible trading 4.5/5

Genuinely well-built software with real, working trader-protection tools, missing only a loss limit and a session reminder from a full set.

Is Underdog Predict legal and safe?

Underdog Sports Holdings, Inc. is the parent company. The broker I actually hold my account with is UDM, LLC, doing business as Underdog Predict, a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant and NFA member (NFA ID 0570265, verified directly on the NFA’s own BASIC database). Depending on the market, the exchange and clearing house differ: Aristotle Exchange DCM/DCO (“Underdog Exchange”/UDX) for UDX markets; KalshiEX LLC for Kalshi markets; and Crypto.com Derivatives North America for Crypto.com|Nadex markets, with Underdog acting as that exchange’s Technology Service Provider.

Custody is the most important thing to understand here. Predict funds sit under CFTC segregation. On a UDX-powered trade, UDX itself acts as the margin account and moves funds into either your Predict or Fantasy balance at settlement. Once money moves back into the Fantasy balance, it loses that CFTC segregation protection, which is worth knowing if you move between Underdog’s prediction and fantasy products. Neither SIPC nor FDIC coverage is mentioned anywhere in Underdog’s Legal Center, and that silence is itself the finding: no such coverage is stated or implied.

Underdog iOS app age rating and store ranking

The stated minimum age is 18+ generally, 19+ in Alabama and Nebraska, 19+ in Colorado for some games, and 21+ in Arizona and Virginia. A one-time suitability questionnaire covering employment, income, and trading experience is required before an account can trade.

Regulatory and legal history: On Sept. 8, 2026, Underdog sued five states (Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Washington), arguing that its event contracts fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the CFTC, a move filed days after it voluntarily surrendered DFS licenses in seven other states. [FACT-CHECK: no direct news coverage of this specific filing turned up in a search of LSR’s own reporting or general news — worth a closer, more targeted check before publishing]. Separately, on July 30, 2026, IG Group announced a roughly $1.3 billion acquisition of Underdog, still pending regulatory approval (also covered by Reuters). On Aug. 14, 2026, Aristotle Exchange sued Underdog and IG Group in Delaware Chancery Court over the March 2026 sale of exchange licenses to Underdog.

Where is Underdog Predict legal? Underdog Predict is legal to use in AL, AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IA, IL, IN, KS, LA, ME, MN, MO, MT, NE, NH, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY.

Fanatics Markets’ payments and sell-early figures weren’t on its own LSR page, so they’re pulled from LSR’s “ProphetX vs. Fanatics Markets” comparison piece and cross-checked against independent coverage (Sportsgambler, CryptoSlate, Odds Assist). See also LSR’s full prediction markets hub for the complete ranked list.

My verdict on Underdog Predict

Underdog Predict is built for sports fans, full stop. It’s a deep, fast, well-built product backed by a real CFTC-registered exchange, but it remains sports-only while rivals like Kalshi and Polymarket branch into politics, economics, and culture.

The strengths are real: a Venmo withdrawal in 24 hours, winnings withdrawable within 30 minutes of a game ending, clean fills on both a crowded and a dead market, and a custody structure that’s genuinely disclosed rather than glossed over. Regen and the Birches Health partnership go further than most platforms bother to.

The weaknesses are just as real. Underdog’s own terms contradict what actually happened in testing, twice, once on bonus funds and once on Venmo deposits. One settlement source listed “Underdog Predict” itself rather than an independent name. Round-trip trading costs are moderate rather than negligible, support leads with an AI agent, and two of seven Responsible Trading tools are missing. Promotions are plentiful but blurred between DFS and predictions.

Overall score: 4.2/5. Underdog Predict is a strong pick for sports fans who want to try prediction markets inside an app they likely already use. A trader who wants breadth beyond sports, or a prediction-specific welcome bonus, should look at Kalshi or Polymarket instead.
