My verdict

Polymarket, one of the best prediction markets I’ve tested, earned a 4.2 out of 5. Its weakest spot is customer support, where I never reached a human despite waiting more than five hours.

Meanwhile, market coverage at Polymarket is the clear strength. Polymarket covers all eight major categories and clears a five-market bar in 14 of 27 tracked sports leagues. Banking also held up well. My $18.61 withdrawal landed in less than 24 hours, and six real deposit methods are on offer.

Liquidity split in two directions. A trade on a high-profile Senate race round-tripped for just 4%, mostly a trading fee, not a bad price. A single-player NFL prop round-tripped for 33.6% instead, proof depth thins out fast past Polymarket’s flagship markets.

Polymarket’s welcome offer is a $25 credit on a $10 deposit, a strong ratio for this vertical. I would tell a trader Polymarket rewards someone who already knows what to trade and wants real category depth.

Quick tip

Polymarket’s deepest coverage and tightest prices sit in its highest-profile markets. A niche player prop can cost you far more to trade in and out of than the quoted price suggests.

My real experience testing

I opened a real Polymarket account, funded it with $20, and placed real trades on three separate markets. I counted markets category by category, claimed what promotions existed, timed a live withdrawal, and contacted support twice.

Polymarket promotions: 3.6/5

Promotions measure the real, math-adjusted value of a platform’s welcome offer. Through LSR’s own partner link, Polymarket offers $25 in trading credit on a $10 qualifying deposit.

Sign up with code TRADELSR to activate the credit. I did not personally complete this claim. The terms above are Polymarket’s own stated offer via this link: a 2.5-to-1 ratio with a low deposit threshold.

My own organic sign-up, without that link, never surfaced a welcome offer at all. That gap matters for any trader who signs up directly rather than through a partner site.

In addition to the welcome credit, Polymarket runs a referral program. I can earn $25 in trading credit for every friend who signs up with my link and trades $25. The total caps at $1,250.

Polymarket US Referral Program

There are no other ongoing offers. No reload bonus, no cashback, and no leaderboard payout turned up anywhere on the site.

Why I rated promotions 3.6/5

A $25 credit on a $10 deposit is a strong ratio, among the better welcome offers in this vertical. It is only available through a partner link, not Polymarket’s own general sign-up.

18+ Only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Not available in all jurisdictions. Trading involves high risk and may result in loss of your entire investment. See polymarket.us/tos for more information. The Polymarket US App serves as an independent software provider and affiliate of Polymarket US and Polymarket Clearing, the CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearing organization.

Polymarket’s market coverage: 4.6/5

Polymarket US Homepage

Market Coverage measures how much a platform actually lets you trade, not just what its homepage claims. Polymarket covers all eight of my tracked categories, several too large to count by hand.

Politics and Sports both ran past 500 live markets before I stopped counting. In other words, you’ll find an impressive and varied menu of markets here.

Crypto, Economics, Culture, Climate, and Tech & Science rounded out the rest, each also with dozens of real, live markets.

Sports runs deeper than the standard list

I tracked 27 major leagues, and 14 of them clear a real five-market floor. Coverage runs from the NFL and NBA down to Rugby and Esports. Polymarket’s own navigation goes deeper still. It nests regional leagues like Spain’s Liga ACB and Australia’s NBL under broader sport categories most checklists skip.

Polymarket US NFL Hub and Limit Order

Combo trades

Polymarket lets traders combine multiple markets into a single position, similar to a parlay. Named products like “Orchard Park Airshow” sit alongside a standalone combo builder. I did not test whether a leg can be cashed out before the others resolve, so I can’t say.

Why I rated market coverage 4.6/5

Eight of eight categories are live, and real sports depth goes well beyond the standard league list I check. A thinner Crypto section keeps it short of a perfect score.

Polymarket banking: 4.8/5

Banking measures how easily money moves in and out, and whether it costs anything beyond a trading fee. Polymarket supports six real methods: card, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, ACH, and wire, plus crypto for deposits only.

I requested an $18.61 withdrawal at 5:06 p.m. ET on Oct. 21 and had it in my bank account the next day. Polymarket also states a general payout policy of about 25 minutes after a market closes. That matched my own experience on a touchdown market, which paid out instantly once it resolved.

Polymarket charges a real trading fee on every order, calculated from the contract price rather than a flat rate. The fee is shown before you confirm a trade, though it takes an extra tap to find.

Polymarket US Deposit Methods
Polymarket US Withdrawal Execution
Polymarket US Trade Fees

No interest is paid on idle cash sitting in the account.

Why I rated banking 4.8/5

A real, fast withdrawal and six funding methods make this one of the stronger categories tested. The fee sits an extra tap away from the order ticket, not front and center.

What it really costs to trade on Polymarket: 3.9/5

Liquidity measures what it actually costs to get in and out of a trade, beyond any stated fee. I tested two real $10 trades, one on a high-profile market and one on a quieter pick. I tracked the real cost of each round trip.

I bought a Texas Senate Election Winner position on James Talarico for $10 at 70 cents a share. I sold it back 18 minutes later at the same 70 cents and still received only $9.60. That real, small cost was driven mostly by Polymarket’s trading fee, not a bad price.

Polymarket US Market Order Buy Slip

A quieter trade told a different story. I bought a single-player NFL touchdown prop for $9.89 at 16 cents. I held it the full two-day window my protocol calls for. I exited at a realized 12 cents against a 15 percent quote, receiving $6.57. That round trip cost 33.6%. The loss blended a real price move against me with a genuine gap between quote and fill.

Neither trade let me see the real order book depth. Polymarket shows a single best price on the trade ticket and nothing more. I confirmed that gap on both the mobile app and the desktop site.

Why I rated liquidity 3.9/5

A flagship market cost almost nothing to trade in and out of. A mainstream player prop, by contrast, cost nearly a third of the position. Depth looks real at the top, but it thins out fast past Polymarket’s busiest markets.

Polymarket customer service: 3.9/5

Customer Support measures how fast and how well a platform answers a real question, not how it describes itself. Polymarket offers live chat, email, and a detailed FAQ, but no phone line.

Polymarket’s AI assistant, Polly, answered every question I asked clearly and specifically. That included a detailed explanation of why a trade can fill at a worse price than quoted.

Alas, I’m sorry to report that I never reached a human, despite waiting more than five hours on live chat across two separate attempts.

There is no separate channel for disputing a market’s outcome. Any dispute instead falls under Polymarket’s own Terms. Claims route to individual, binding arbitration in New York, and the Terms explicitly block any class action.

One flaw stood out beyond the wait itself. After I asked Polly to connect me with a human, I couldn’t find my way back to a fresh AI conversation. That left me stuck without either option.

Polymarket US Support Chat Slippage

Why I rated customer support 3.9/5

Polly answers fast and accurately, but a real person was unreachable across two separate, lengthy attempts. A dead end with no way back to the AI only makes that wait worse.

Polymarket’s app, usability and responsible trading tools: 4.1/5

User Experience & Responsible Trading measures how the Polymarket app works day-to-day, as well as whether real trader-protection tools exist. Polymarket runs on iOS, Android, and desktop, with one mobile-only feature called Squads that lets friends share trades.

My account balance clearly separates cash from money tied up in an open position. The two figures sit on separate screens rather than on one. Additionally, a full trade history is available, covering every deposit, trade, and withdrawal.

Polymarket US Squads
Polymarket US Trade History

Three of seven trader-protection tools I check for are present: deposit limits, self-exclusion, and a Birches Health education partnership. Age is verified through identity checks rather than a simple checkbox.

Polymarket US Responsible Trading

Order tickets support only two order types: market and limit, with no stop-limit or good-until-canceled options. An auto-sell feature that closes a position when it hits a specified price stood out as a genuinely trader-friendly touch.

Why I rated user experience & responsible trading 4.1/5

The app runs cleanly across every platform I tested, and the auto-sell tool is a real standout. Three of seven trader-protection tools is a fair baseline, not a strong one.

What’s new

This review is of Polymarket as tested in early November 2026, so there is nothing new to report yet. Check back for updates. We will keep this review up to date with any new features or important details as the platform evolves.

What is Polymarket?

Polymarket prediction markets cover everything from elections to sports, letting traders buy and sell contracts tied to real-world outcomes. Each contract settles at $1 if the event happens, or $0 if it doesn’t.

How does Polymarket work?

You trade shares in a Yes or No position on any listed event. The live price moves in real time and acts as the market’s running estimate of the odds.

Who owns Polymarket?

QCX LLC operates Polymarket US today, built on the platform first launched by its predecessor, Blockratize, Inc. Full corporate and regulatory detail sits in Trust & Legal, just below.

Trust & legal

This section is not scored, but it covers facts every trader deserves before funding an account. Here is what I found in Polymarket’s corporate records, legal status, custody, and taxes.

Corporate record

Polymarket US is run by QCX LLC, a Delaware company doing business as Polymarket US. The CFTC designated it a Contract Market on July 9, 2026. Its parent is QCL Quad Code USA Corp, and trades clear through a separate entity, QC Clearing LLC.

Polymarket’s predecessor, Blockratize, Inc., paid a $1.4 million penalty to the CFTC in January 2022 for offering unregistered event contracts. No further charges followed a later investigation that closed in 2025.

Where Polymarket is legal

Polymarket is not available everywhere. Utah and Nevada currently restrict access, and availability can change by state. AK, AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV & WY

Custody of funds

Customer funds sit with QC Clearing LLC, Polymarket’s own clearing entity. No SIPC or FDIC coverage applies, and Polymarket makes no claim to the contrary.

Polymarket’s own Rulebook allows it to modify a market’s rules after listing. Any dispute is resolved through individual, binding arbitration in New York, with no class action allowed.

Tax & reporting

Polymarket does not issue 1099 tax forms. Any gains are still the trader’s responsibility to report, so keep the full trade history on hand.

Player sentiment snapshot

Polymarket holds a 4.5-star rating across 63,000 reviews on the Apple App Store. Google Play shows a 3.8-star rating across 14,100 reviews. Some Apple reviewers reported withdrawal trouble that I did not reproduce in my own testing.

Competitive benchmarking

Kalshi vs. Polymarket is the matchup traders ask about most, alongside Underdog Predict and ProphetX. All three platforms already have their own reviews on this site, including Kalshi.

Polymarket FAQ

Is Polymarket legit?

Yes. Polymarket is a CFTC-designated Contract Market. I opened an account, funded it, traded, and withdrew without issue.

How much does it actually cost to trade on Polymarket?

Every trade carries a formula-based fee, shown on the order ticket. My own round-trip trades cost between 4% and 33.6%, depending on how actively the market was trading.

How fast can I withdraw money from Polymarket?

My own $18.61 withdrawal landed in less than 24 hours.

Is there a Polymarket promo code?

Yes. Code TRADELSR activates $25 in trading credit on a $10 deposit through this link.

How liquid are Polymarket’s markets?

It depends heavily on the market. A high-profile market cost me just 4% to trade in and out of, while a single-player prop cost 33.6%.

Can I lose more money than I deposit on Polymarket?

No. Every position is fully collateralized, and I found no way to trade on margin or credit.

Do I owe taxes on Polymarket winnings?

Likely yes, though Polymarket does not issue a 1099. Keep your own trade history and speak with a tax professional.

Final verdict on Polymarket

Polymarket will fit traders who want real category and league depth and can size trades around thin spots. It won’t fit a trader who signs up directly rather than through a partner link. It also won’t suit anyone who expects fast human support.

Pros

  • A strong $25-on-$10 welcome credit through LSR’s own link
  • Deep coverage across all eight major categories
  • Fast, confirmed bank withdrawal

Cons

  • The welcome credit only exists through a partner link, not Polymarket’s own general sign-up
  • A real player-prop market cost nearly a third of the position to exit
  • No human reachable on live chat across two separate, lengthy attempts

Recommendation: Conditionally recommended, for traders who know what to trade and don’t need fast human support.
