LSR

My verdict

To answer the most important question first, yes, ProphetX is legit. ProphetX is a federally regulated exchange that I tested with real money, earning an overall score of 3.9 out of 5. I opened a real account, placed real trades, and completed a real withdrawal myself.

Banking is the strongest category, at 4.9, with seven funding methods and a 12-hour withdrawal time. My payout even landed 45 seconds after a game ended.

Liquidity is the weakest, at 3.0, because I could never close a position early. I tried it twice, on a single contract and a two-leg parlay, and neither let me exit before resolution.

ProphetX suits traders who want deep NFL, college football, and soccer coverage. It will frustrate anyone who expects to trade in and out like a stock, and it’s one of several platforms worth weighing on LSR’s prediction markets hub.

The welcome offer is real: $75 in trading credit for $50 in trading volume within 30 days. I claimed it myself, and the first $25 installment was credited in under two hours.

ProphetX is a legitimate, regulated exchange backed by real money. Whether it is right for you depends on accepting that every position runs to resolution.

Testing evidence

I claimed the $75 welcome bonus. I traded $50 across five real positions, and the first $25 installment was credited in under two hours. I then placed a real $10 trade on a busy market and a quiet one. Both filled exactly at the quoted price, with zero slippage on either side.

I tried to exit two different positions early, including a parlay. Unfortunately, none of them let me out before the market resolved. Later, I requested and completed a real withdrawal. It took 12 hours to clear and be credited to my debit card.

ProphetX Cool-Off Set

Also, as part of my testing, I contacted support with a fixed set of five questions. I never reached a human in chat, and my email went unanswered. I also checked the Responsible Trading tools myself. I found five of the seven canonical tools actually working, including a cool-off setting.

ProphetX promotions | 3.6/5

I tested Promotions because the welcome bonus sets your real starting budget on any exchange. Use ProphetX promo code LSR when signing up, and ProphetX will pay $75 in trading credit for $50 in trading volume, a 1.5-to-1 ratio I confirmed by claiming it myself.

This offer is available in most states. That said, always confirm your state’s eligibility requirements before trading.

The $75 does not land all at once. ProphetX pays it in three equal $25 installments, gated by what its own terms call the Utilization Condition.

InstallmentTimingCondition
First $25Within 24 hours of hitting $50 tradedNone (automatic)
Second $25Day 7Full first $25 deployed into trades at $0.80/contract or under
Third $25Day 14Same condition met for both prior installments

I hit the $50 threshold and had my first $25 in under two hours, well ahead of ProphetX’s own 24-hour promise. The Utilization Condition is specific: every dollar of an installment must go into a live position priced at $0.80 per contract or lower, or that installment and every one after it are forfeited.

The credit is not restricted to specific markets, and I found no minimum or maximum trade size tied to it. Each $25 installment expires 45 calendar days after it is credited, which is generous once you know the price-per-contract rule that actually unlocks the next one.

ProphetX’s only other offer is a refer-a-friend bonus. It starts at $25 and increases by $5 per successful referral, capping at $50 once a referred friend has traded $50 within 30 days of signing up.

One freshness note worth flagging: ProphetX’s own terms say this entire Incentive Funds program ends on December 31, 2026, or once 50,000 participants qualify, whichever comes first. The exact structure in this review may not exist by the time you read it.

Why I rated promotions 3.6/5

A 1.5-to-1 ratio is real money, but it is a modest headline next to flat-dollar offers elsewhere in this space, and it holds Promotions to 3.6/5. A lower unlock threshold, or installments not gated behind a strict per-contract price rule, would push Promotions higher.

ProphetX trading options | 3.2/5

I tested Market Coverage because it decides what you can actually trade here. ProphetX covers just two of the eight categories I track, backed by 709 live markets on the day I counted.

Those two categories are Politics and Sports. ProphetX offers nothing in Crypto, Economics, Culture, Climate, Tech, or Geopolitics, a deliberate, narrow focus rather than a gap it is trying to hide.

LeagueLive marketsClears 5+?
NFL50Yes
College Football56Yes
NBA17Yes
NHL12Yes
Soccer~162Yes
Tennis~333Yes
MMA/UFC15Yes
Esports8Yes

Eight of the 27 leagues I track clear a real five-market floor. ProphetX’s own navigation splits Soccer and Tennis by individual competition, Premier League and La Liga separately, for example, rather than one combined number the way I track it.

ProphetX live market count

A single game can carry remarkable depth even when the league total looks modest. The Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks alone offered 162 separate markets, far beyond what a league-level count would suggest.

I sampled four markets for settlement disclosure because only two categories were available. Both sports markets named a real, independent, checkable source; neither politics market did, a 50% disclosure rate I would like to see improve.

ProphetX added Esports between my first test window and this one. League of Legends now carries eight live markets, clearing the coverage floor on its own.

Parlay Mode, ProphetX’s name for combining markets, works as advertised. I built a real two-leg same-game parlay, and the combined price reflected both legs correctly, with its own stated liquidity cap shown before I confirmed the trade. I could not exit that combined position early, the same limitation I found on every single-leg position I tested.

Why I rated market coverage 3.2/5

Real depth within the two categories cannot offset the six categories that ProphetX does not touch at all, which holds Market Coverage to 3.2/5. Genuine coverage in even one additional category, Crypto or Economics being the most natural next step, would push Market Coverage higher.

ProphetX banking | 4.9/5

I tested Banking because how fast your own money moves matters more than any bonus. ProphetX cleared a real withdrawal in 12 hours and paid out a settled position in 45 seconds.

MethodDepositWithdrawNotes
Pay By BankYesYes$9.99 min deposit, $1 min withdrawal

Digital WalletYesNoApple Pay, Google Pay
Wire TransferYesYes$1,000 min deposit
CryptocurrencyYesNo$9.99 min deposit
Paper CheckNoYes$10 min deposit
Edge Real-Time PaymentYesNoNot stated

That is seven named methods, more than any other prediction-market platform I have tested in this series. I requested a real withdrawal to my debit card and had the money back in 12 hours, well inside ProphetX’s own “a few business days” estimate.

Speed of Settlement is a separate clock from ordinary withdrawal speed, and it is where ProphetX stood out most. My NBA position resolved, and the payout hit my actual Cash Balance 45 seconds later, not just a status change on the position itself.

ProphetX charges a flat 2% fee on net winnings per market, which is shown directly on the order ticket before I confirm every trade. I found no interest paid on idle cash and no position or exposure limit on any market I traded.

Why I rated banking 4.9/5

Seven funding methods, same-day withdrawals, and a 45-second settlement outpace every other platform’s Banking results I have tested in this series. A stated maximum withdrawal amount, which ProphetX does not currently publish, is the one thing that would push Banking to a full 5.0.

ProphetX liquidity | 3.0/5

I test liquidity because it answers a basic question: once you are in a position, can you actually get back out before you want to? On ProphetX, the answer was no. On every position I tried, at every size I tested.

I could not run the standard round-trip test here, not because ProphetX’s markets are thin, but because the functionality that test depends on does not exist on this platform. I placed a real $10 trade on a busy NBA game, and another on a quiet soccer match, and neither position offered any way to sell, close, or exit before the market resolved.

I confirmed this twice, at two different sizes, in two different positions. A single-contract trade and a two-leg Parlay Mode position both held me in until resolution, with no Sell button, no live resale value, and no resting order I could cancel into cash.

That puts ProphetX alone in this review series. Every other platform I have tested here, Kalshi, Underdog Predict, Gemini Predictions, DraftKings Predictions, and FanDuel Predicts, let me close a position early, whether that cost 3% or 19% to do.

The picture is not entirely one-sided. On my busy NBA market, the Yes and No sides of the same spread added up to roughly 100%, as tight as any market I have priced in this series, and ProphetX names a real Maker Rebates program paying up to 80% back on maker volume. That tightness did not hold across the board. The same game’s player-prop markets priced Yes and No sides as high as 155% combined, a real cost built into those specific contracts.

Why I rated liquidity 3.0/5

A platform that never lets you exit a position early cannot earn credit for a round-trip cost it does not let you test, which is why Liquidity lands at the bottom of our scale, 3.0/5. Adding a way to close a position before resolution, even with a real cost attached, is what would move Liquidity higher.

ProphetX customer support | 4.8/5

I tested Customer Support because an AI chatbot answering correctly is not the same as a real person being reachable. ProphetX gave correct answers to three of my five fixed test questions, but never connected me to a human through chat or email.

ProphetX offers five channels on paper: FAQ, live chat, social media, email, and phone. I count three as real, direct contact methods; FAQ and social links are not two-way support.

QuestionCorrect?
Current promotions or bonusesYes
Withdrawal timing after cashing outNo
Maine access and market restrictionsYes, with a caveat
Setting a deposit limitYes
Disputing a wrongly settled marketNo

Live chat connects you to an AI agent first, every time, and I never reached a human through it. My email asking which source settles Politics markets went unanswered beyond ProphetX’s own stated 24-hour window.

ProphetX live chat support

ProphetX does maintain a real, separate disputes path. A formal Notice of Dispute goes to its support email, followed by a call or video conference within 30 days, with unresolved cases moving to binding arbitration through JAMS (Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services).

Why I rated customer support 4.8/5

Strong self-serve answers and a real dispute process hold Customer Support near the top of this field at 4.8/5, even though the email I sent was never answered. A live chat path that connects to a real person would push Customer Support to a perfect score.

ProphetX user experience & responsible trading | 4.5/5

I tested the User Experience and Responsible Trading tools myself because a review should cover more than just the trades. ProphetX passed six of seven core platform checks, and five of its seven canonical Responsible Trading tools were present and working.

ProphetX runs on iOS and Android, and the two apps matched the desktop site on everything except one chart: the percentage-change graph on a market’s history only appears on desktop. Navigating both the app and the desktop site was simple, and I never hit a crash, freeze, or load error during testing.

My balance screen clearly separated withdrawable Cash Balance from money locked in open positions, a real strength given how confusing that split can be on other platforms. A full Account Statement logged every trade, fee, deposit, and withdrawal, though I found no year-end tax document anywhere in the account.

A third balance type, labeled GEC, stands for Global Exposure Credits, according to ProphetX’s help center. When an order gets matched, a portion of the funds behind it becomes temporarily usable elsewhere on the platform before that original position settles, not bonus money and not withdrawable on its own.

I signed up myself, and identity verification was instant: my Social Security number’s last four digits pulled up my existing name and address, which were confirmed by a phone code and email. ProphetX also offers both Market and Limit order types, and contracts are fully collateralized, with no credit or margin funding available.

Why I rated user experience & responsible trading 4.5/5

A clean, reliable app and a genuinely useful Responsible Trading toolkit earn User Experience & Responsible Trading its 4.5/5. Closing the parity gap on that percentage-change chart, and adding a loss or exposure limit, would move User Experience & Responsible Trading higher.

What’s new at ProphetX

  • October 2026: ProphetX launched Parlay Mode, letting traders combine multiple legs from the same game into one position. My own two-leg test combined correctly, but I could not exit it before both legs resolved.
  • October 2026: Esports markets appeared for the first time during my testing window, led by League of Legends. That category did not exist when this review’s testing began on October 5.

Is ProphetX legal? Trust, custody, and taxes

ProphetX is operated by ProphetX LLC, a Delaware company whose parent is Stake Trade, Inc. It has been a registered Designated Contract Market since June 11, 2026, and a Derivative Clearing Organization since June 10, 2026, operating both roles itself with no separate named broker.

Connecticut issued ProphetX a cease-and-desist order on September 10, 2026, alleging its sports contracts violated state gambling law. ProphetX withdrew from Connecticut on October 6, and I found no CFTC enforcement action against it as of this review.

I tested from Maine, where ProphetX operates legally. It is currently unavailable in Nevada and Connecticut, and I completed the full chain myself: account creation, funding, placing orders, and a real withdrawal.

ProphetX holds customer funds in segregated accounts at US-chartered commercial banks, kept separate from its own operating funds, and the terms make no mention of SIPC or FDIC coverage. I confirmed HTTPS across the site, though I could not independently verify its withdrawal-specific security controls.

Three terms clauses are worth quoting directly. On market changes: “We reserve the right to remove any Contract from the Service at any time.” On custody: “ProphetX DCO shall separately account for and segregate all Market Participant funds from its proprietary funds.” On arbitration: disputes go through JAMS, and “You and ProphetX are each waiving respective rights to participate in a class action.”

ProphetX issues no year-end tax document that I could find. Its own terms state plainly: “You are solely responsible for any taxes which apply to Your use of the Service.”

Player sentiment snapshot

ProphetX holds a 4.8-star rating from 3,400 reviews on the Apple App Store and a 4.3-star rating from 750 reviews on Google Play. These are shown for context only and play no part in ProphetX’s score above.

ProphetX trails both competitors in overall score, and the gap is directly attributable to Liquidity. Kalshi and FanDuel Predicts both let me close a position before resolution; ProphetX did not, on any position, at any size.

Where ProphetX holds its own is Banking: its 12-hour withdrawal and 45-second settlement beat both competitors’ results in this series. A trader who values getting paid quickly and is comfortable holding every position to resolution will find that trade-off reasonable.

Final verdict on ProphetX

ProphetX will fit traders who:

  • Want deep coverage of NFL, college football, and major soccer leagues, backed by real depth, not just a long category list.
  • Value fast, reliable banking, including a 12-hour withdrawal and 45-second settlement in my own testing.
  • Are comfortable holding every position to its real-world resolution, with no need to trade in and out mid-market.

ProphetX will not fit traders who:

  • Want to actively manage positions, taking profits or cutting losses before a market resolves; I could not do this on any position I tested.
  • Want to trade outside Politics and Sports; ProphetX offers nothing in Crypto, Economics, Culture, Climate, or Tech.
  • Want a welcome offer with a low unlock threshold; ProphetX’s $75 bonus requires $50 traded first, gated further by a strict per-contract price rule.

My recommendation: conditionally recommended, specifically for Sports and Politics traders who plan to hold positions to resolution rather than trade around them.

ProphetX FAQ

Is ProphetX legit?

Yes. ProphetX LLC is a CFTC-registered Designated Contract Market and Derivative Clearing Organization, and I completed a full real-money cycle myself: funding, trading, and a successful withdrawal.

What is ProphetX?

ProphetX is a sports- and politics-focused prediction market where you trade Yes/No contracts on real-world outcomes instead of placing a fixed bet against a sportsbook.

How fast can I withdraw money from ProphetX?

My own withdrawal cleared in 12 hours, well inside ProphetX’s own “a few business days” estimate.

How much does ProphetX actually cost to trade on?

ProphetX charges a flat 2% fee on net winnings per market, shown on the order ticket before you confirm. For many traders, the higher cost will be the inability to exit a position early.

Is there a ProphetX promo code?

Yes. Use code LSR to claim $75 in trading credit for $50 traded within 30 days.

Does ProphetX have a referral code?

Yes, a separate refer-a-friend bonus starting at $25 and climbing to $50, once your referred friend trades $50 within 30 days of signing up.

How liquid are ProphetX’s markets?

I could not measure a round-trip cost because ProphetX does not allow traders to exit a position before it resolves, on any market or any position type I tested.
