Largest NFL win total lines
- Kansas City Chiefs:
- San Francisco 49ers:
- Baltimore Ravens:
- Cincinnati Bengals:
- Dallas Cowboys:
- Detroit Lions:
- Philadelphia Eagles:
- Buffalo Bills:
Heading into the season, eight teams had lines of 10.5 or more wins at most online sportsbooks. The Chiefs are the only one of those teams to have gone a perfect 4-0 so far. The Bills and Lions are 3-1. The 49ers, Eagles, Ravens, and Cowboys are 2-2, while the Bengals are 1-3. Last season, all of the clubs with lines of 10.5 or more total wins reached the NFL playoffs.
The Ravens had the most regular season wins last time out with 13. The Cowboys, Lions, and 49ers all won 12 games apiece. All told, 12 teams reached double digits in wins a season ago. For this season, two of the teams with the highest win total lines — Chiefs and 49ers — are also among the top favorites in Super Bowl odds.
Lowest NFL win totals
- Carolina Panthers:
- Denver Broncos:
- New England Patriots:
For the 2024-25 season, low expectations are in the air for the Panthers, Broncos, and Patriots. They’re the only three squads that had preseason win total lines of 5.5 or lower. The Broncos are 2-2 in the early going, while the Panthers and Patriots are each 1-3. The Jaguars are the only winless team at 0-4 through the first month of play.
Two teams had win total lines of 5.5 or less ahead of last season: the Cardinals and Texans. Arizona finished under that benchmark with a record of 4-13. Houston exceeded its line with a final record of 10-7 and also won the AFC South. Five teams closed out last season with five victories or fewer.
NFL win total risers and fallers
- Arizona Cardinals: +2.5
- Atlanta Falcons: +2.5
- Carolina Panthers: +2.5
- Cleveland Browns: -2.5
- Denver Broncos: -2.5
- Los Angeles Chargers: +3.5
- New York Jets: +2.5
- Pittsburgh Steelers: -2.5
- Washington Commanders: +2.5
A difference of two or more wins between an NFL team’s record from last season and its line for this season is significant. Nine clubs fall into that category, with six showing an increase and the other three a decrease. All six of the risers missed out on the postseason last time around. The Chargers have the biggest difference at +3.5, with a line of 8.5 wins following a 5-12 campaign.
Los Angeles has hired Jim Harbaugh as its new head coach, and the former Michigan coach is among the favorites in NFL Coach of the Year odds. Of the three clubs that are at -2.5, the Browns and Steelers made the playoffs last season, but both exited early. The Broncos are heading in a new direction at QB with Bo Nix, and sportsbooks are tempering expectations as a result.
The Falcons and Jets are among the teams with a difference of +2.5. Atlanta signed Kirk Cousins to take over at QB over the offseason, and the team is viewed as a favorite to win the NFC South. New York is hoping for a rebound and a full campaign out of Aaron Rodgers, whose season ended in Week 1 last year due to injury.
How do you bet on NFL win totals?
The NFL win total bet is a standard over/under wager. Sportsbooks will set a line on total wins for all 32 NFL teams. Bettors can then wager on a team finishing over or under its line. This is the opposite of a bet like the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, which is considered a futures bet.
- Kansas City Chiefs total wins
- Over 11.5 (-110)
- Under 11.5 (-110)
If you think that the team will win more games than the line indicates, then you would choose over, while you would pick under if you think the team will fall short. Such a bet is a season-long wager that won’t be settled until we get a definitive outcome.
