Joe Burrow seems to be mostly over the calf injury that limited him early in the season and has thrown for five TDs with two INTs over the past two games.
The San Francisco 49ers (5-2) lost a second straight game on the road against the Vikings on Monday night. QB Brock Purdy has entered the league’s concussion protocol and seems unlikely to clear it in time to play, with the line for this game shifting in the aftermath of the news. If Purdy sits, backup Sam Darnold will start for the 49ers. Darnold has attempted just one pass for San Francisco this season and played in six games with Carolina last season. WR Deebo Samuel will be out again this week with a shoulder injury and isn’t likely to return until Week 10.
Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers (2-4) suffered a 31-17 road loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. Justin Herbert was picked off twice in the loss. RB Austin Ekeler was a full participant in practice on Wednesday after limping off the field during Sunday’s game and seems likely to get the bulk of the work this week. TE Gerald Everett left last week’s game with a quadriceps injury and did not practice Wednesday. He’s questionable for Sunday night’s game.
Las Vegas Raiders at Detroit Lions
