NFL Week 2 Survivor Pools: Top Favorites & Implied Probabilities

Advancing to Week 2 for NFL survivor pools proved to be challenging.

One of last week’s biggest moneyline favorites fell at home in a stunning upset loss. Other favored squads had to battle back from behind to escape with close victories.

The opening week of the regular season is in the rearview mirror. As we get set for NFL Week 2 games, half of this week’s favorites have odds to win of +250 or greater, which translates into lots of potential choices for survivor pool participants to consider.

Surprising loss for Bengals shakes up NFL survivor pools

Heading into their home opener, the Bengals were -7.5 home favorites over the Patriots. New England opened the season near the bottom of the barrel in 2025 Super Bowl odds, while Cincinnati was one of the top five favorites. The Bengals were a popular Week 1 pick as a result. By the time the early games were over, they were the source of a lot of grief.

The Patriots stunned the Bengals 16-10, taking down a lot of survivor pool entrants as they celebrated victory. At Circa Sportsbook, 34.3% of participants in its survivor pool contest were on the Bengals. The stunning upset kicked 4,895 people out of the running before the first week of the season came to a close.

Just three other teams attracted more than 1,000 survivor pool backers at Circa: the Seahawks (24.7%), Bills (12%), and Saints (9.5%). New Orleans was the only member of that trio that didn’t give entrants anything to sweat about. Derek Carr threw for three touchdowns as the Saints rolled to a dominant 47-10 win over the visiting Panthers.

The Bills were 6.5-point favorites for Sunday’s visit from the Cardinals. Down 17-3 in the second quarter, Buffalo had to battle back to escape with a 34-28 victory. The Seahawks were also -6.5 favorites as they hosted the Broncos. They found themselves down 13-9 at the half before mounting a comeback to exit with a 26-20 win.

Biggest moneyline favorites for NFL Week 2 games

Last week, just three teams had an implied win probability of 70% or greater. For Week 2, half of the favorites hit that benchmark. The longest odds of that group belong to the defending champion Chiefs, currently at -250 on the moneyline as they get set to host the Bengals.

The biggest favorite of Week 2 is the Ravens at odds of -455. Baltimore is looking to rebound from a tough 27-20 opening loss to the Chiefs. The Ravens will host the Raiders, who are 0-1 after a 22-10 road loss to the Chargers.

The Lions (-315) are hefty favorites for a playoff rematch with the visiting Buccaneers. In last season’s divisional round, Detroit picked up a 31-23 home win, covering as -6.5 favorites. In Week 1, the Lions took down the visiting Rams in overtime, while the Buccaneers cruised at home over the Commanders.

On Monday Night Football, the Eagles (-295) are sizable favorites over the visiting Falcons. Philadelphia is 1-0 after a Week 1 victory over the Packers behind a three-TD outing from new arrival Saquon Barkley. The Falcons, meanwhile, struggled at home in an 18-10 loss to the Steelers.

There are three other relatively hefty favorites on the Week 2 slate: Cowboys (-285) against the Saints, Chargers (-278) at the Panthers, and Texans (-275) versus the Bears on Sunday Night Football. Of those six teams, only the Panthers suffered a defeat during the opening week.

The rest of this week’s matchups

Of the remaining eight games, five of the favorites have an implied win probability of 60% or greater: Jets (-176), Seahawks (-170), Colts (-166), Jaguars (-166), and Steelers (-162). Interestingly, four of those teams are road favorites. The Jaguars are the lone outliers as they get set to host the Browns.

The final three games project to be closer, at least as far as the moneyline odds are concerned. The Giants and Commanders will square off in a meeting of NFC East teams that are looking to bounce back from double-digit defeats. The Rams travel to take on the Cardinals in a meeting of 0-1 NFC West teams.

On Thursday Night Football, it’s a meeting of 1-0 AFC East squads that are looking to get a leg up in the race. The latest NFL division winner odds suggest there could be a tight race brewing between the Bills and Dolphins. Buffalo took both of last season’s meetings: 48-20 at home in Week 4 and 21-14 in Miami in Week 18.

A sneak peek at NFL Week 3 lines

Early betting lines are available for Week 3 games. Based on the current point spreads, there appear to be four sizable favorites:

The Jets are favored over the Titans this week, while the other three clubs are on the underdog side of the ledger. As for this week’s heavy favorites, bigger challenges appear to be on the horizon for Week 3.

The Ravens will travel to face the Cowboys next week. The early spread for that one has Baltimore at +1. The Lions (-4.5) will be at the Cardinals, and the Eagles (-3.5) will be on the road to take on the Saints.
