College football Week 9 betting previews

Georgia vs. Florida betting preview

The 7-0 Bulldogs will put their perfect record on the line on the road against the Gators, who come into this game at 5-2. Georgia holds down the top spot in the latest AP poll and has won six of seven by double digits. Florida has rebounded from a disappointing loss to Kentucky by winning two straight over Vanderbilt and South Carolina. The Bulldogs have won the last two meetings between these teams, picking up a 42-20 win a season ago, and they lead the all-time series 54-44-2.

Oregon vs. Utah betting preview

Oregon is ranked eighth and is 6-1 on the season so far. The team’s lone defeat came at Washington two weeks ago, with the Ducks rebounding for a 38-24 victory over Washington State last time out. Utah is fresh off an upset of USC and is ranked 13th. The team is also 6-1, falling to Oregon State a few weeks back. Oregon won last season’s matchup 20-17 and holds a 24-12 lead all-time, while the Utes have won three of the last five meetings.

Duke vs. Louisville betting preview

Duke is ranked 20th in the nation with a record of 5-2. The Blue Devils have had a tough stretch in recent weeks while dropping two of three, including a 38-20 loss at Florida State last week. Louisville is slightly ahead of them at 18th in the latest poll. The Cardinals are 6-1, losing last time out in an upset to Pitt. For the season to date, Duke is 4-3 against the spread and 3-3-1 on the over/under. Louisville is 3-4 ATS and 3-3-1 on totals.

College football Week 9 futures report

Michigan is the betting favorite in College Football Playoff odds, followed by defending champion Georgia and Ohio State. There has been a shift in the fourth spot with Florida State replacing Washington, which has dropped down to fifth. Michigan has this week off, while the other four are favored by two touchdowns or more in their respective games.

Behind the top five, two more teams are fairly close: Oklahoma and Alabama. The Sooners are 7-0 and first in the Big 12 as they get set for a road date with Kansas. The Crimson Tide are 7-1 and a perfect 5-0 in SEC play. The club gets this week off before returning to action with a home date versus LSU.

The Heisman Trophy odds have tightened up. Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. was the consensus favorite last week. He’s still among the top three choices but now finds himself jockeying for position with two other contenders: Michigan QB JJ McCarthy and LSU QB Jayden Daniels

McCarthy and Daniels are both off this week. Penix Jr. and the 7-0 Huskies will be on the road as big favorites over Stanford. For the season to date, he has completed 70.8% of his passes for 2,576 yards, 20 TDs, and five interceptions. He is also the current leader in passing yards and seventh in passer rating at 176.8.
