2. Create an account. Open the registration form and enter your name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, and last four digits of your Social Security number. Create a password. Accept the terms, submit the form, and verify your account.
3. Confirm your location. If you are using a web browser, you will need to download a geolocation plugin, which will confirm that you are in a state where the book you are using is legal. Alternatively, you can download the app via Google Play or the App Store and simply turn on your phone’s location services when using the app.
4. Make a deposit. Visit the cashier page and make a deposit. The minimum deposit at most online sportsbooks is $10. Others may set it at amounts like $5 or $20.
4. Head to the soccer section. Select soccer from the list of sports on the homepage, and you will see a range of tournaments. Click on “Euro 2024.”
5. Choose your betting option. Click on a particular game or a futures bet to browse the list of available Euro 2024 odds. If you find a wager you like, click on it.
6. Place your wager. Your pick will appear on the betting slip. Type in the amount you would like to risk, and it will highlight the potential winnings. Click to confirm the bet.
7. Withdraw your funds. If your pick is successful, the funds will appear in your account after the game. If you would like to cash out your winnings, hit the “Withdraw” button and follow the instructions. Same-day payouts may be available via certain methods, such as PayPal and Play+.
How does betting on soccer and the UEFA Euros work?
Learning to bet on the Euros will be the same as learning how to bet on soccer, generally. You will generally find more betting options on soccer than any other sport. For example, BetRivers offers more than 350 bets on a typical Premier League game. The bets typically fit into the following categories:
Result betting
These wagers focus on the result of a particular game at Euro 2024. There are a variety of options, but these are the main ones to familiarize yourself with:
Bet | Description | Example |
Moneyline | A simple bet on the result of a game. There are three potential outcomes: Team A wins, draw (tie), or Team B wins. | Spain to win (-145); Draw (+280); Croatia to win (+380) |
Draw no bet | This is essentially a two-way moneyline; the bet is a push if the game ends in a draw (tie). | Spain draw no bet (-370); Croatia draw no bet (+250) |
Win to nil | A bet on a team to win the game without conceding a goal. | Spain win to nil (+175); Croatia win to nil (+800) |
Win from behind | A bet on a team to win a game despite falling behind at some stage. For example, a team could go down 1-0 and end up winning 2-1. | Spain win from behind (+650); Croatia win from behind (+1100) |
Correct score | A prediction on the exact score at the end of the game. | Spain 1, Croatia 0 (+475); Spain 2, Croatia 0 (+550) |
Other examples include halftime/full time, to win both halves, to win either half, to win a specific half, and double chance.
These bets are settled at the end of regulation time. For example, let’s say a knockout game between Germany and Italy finishes 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, and Germany then wins 3-1 in extra time. In that case, bets on the draw (tie) will pay out, whereas wagers on Germany to win will not.
Note: There is no extra time in the group stages; games tied at the end of regulation will result in a draw.
Spreads
These bets are similar to the point spread for a football game or the run line for a baseball game. One team has a handicap, and you can then predict who will cover. Here is an example from a previous Euro 2024 qualifier at FanDuel:
- Wales -1.5 (+470)
- Poland +1.5 (-700)
If you think Wales will win the game by a margin of at least two goals, you can bet on Wales to cover. Alternatively, you can back Poland to cover if you think it will win, draw (tie), or lose by only a single goal.
There is also a more advanced option called the Asian handicap, which can also result in a push, a half-win, or a half-loss. Here is an example from bet365:
Asian handicap | Potential outcome |
Germany -1 (-267) | Pays out if Germany wins by at least two goals. Pushes if Germany wins by one goal. Loses if Germany fails to win. |
Germany -1.25 (-167) | Pays out if Germany wins by at least two goals. Half-loss if Germany wins by one goal. Loses if Germany fails to win. |
Germany -1.5 (-119) | Pays out if Germany wins by two goals. Loses if Germany wins by a single goal or fails to win. |
Germany -1.75 (+102) | Pays out if Germany wins by at least three goals. Half-win if Germany wins by two goals. Loses if Germany wins by a single goal or fails to win. |
Germany -2 (+137) | Pays out if Germany wins by at least three goals. Pushes if Germany wins by two goals. Loses if Germany wins by a single goal or fails to win. |
Goals
These are some of the most common goal bets for soccer games:
- Total goals: An over/under bet on how many goals both teams will combine to score in a game. For example, you might find odds of -110 on over/under 2.5 goals.
- Both teams to score: A straightforward yes/no bet on whether both teams will find the back of the net in a game.
- Team totals: An over/under bet on the number of goals a specific team will score during a game.
- Exact goals: A wager on the precise number of goals in a game.
Once again, sportsbooks will grade these bets at the end of 90 minutes. They do not cover extra time when the tournament reaches the knockout stage.
Same-game parlays
Same-game parlays are popular among soccer bettors. They allow you to combine two or more predictions for the same game. These are some examples:
- Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
- France to win and over 1.5 goals in the game.
- Italy to win and under 4.5 goals in the game.
- England to win and Harry Kane to score.
How to bet on UEFA Euro 2024 futures
The best online sportsbooks offer a wide range of Euro 2024 futures betting options. These are the most common ones:
Tournament winner
This is a straightforward bet on which team will lift the trophy. Sportsbooks will release odds on this well in advance and update them on a daily basis as the tournament unfolds.
Group betting
The 24 teams competing at Euro 2024 will do so in six groups:
- Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
- Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
- Group C: England, Denmark, Slovenia, Serbia
- Group D: France, Netherlands, Austria, Poland
- Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine
- Group F: Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic, Georgia
You can bet on which team will win each group. Sixteen teams will qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament: the six group winners, the six group runners-up, and the four third-place teams with the best records. You can also bet on whether a team will qualify for the knockout stage.
Stage of elimination betting
Some bettors like to try to predict how deep a particular team will go in the tournament. For example, Bet365 is offering these options on when Germany will be eliminated: group stage (+1000), Round of 16 (+333), quarterfinals (+225), semifinals (+333), runner-up (+600), tournament winner (+650).
Alternatively, you can bet on a team to reach a certain stage of the Euros. For instance, you could bet on the Netherlands to reach the quarterfinals or Spain to reach the semifinals. Those wagers pay out as soon as the team reaches the stage you have specified, regardless of what happens next. Another popular option allows you to try to name the finalists, such as England-Germany or France-Italy.
Player futures
Examples include betting on which player will finish Euro 2024 as the top scorer. Once again, the odds come out prior to the tournament, and sportsbooks will update them as the action unfolds.
Comparing Euro 2024 betting options
BetRivers has tons of options when it comes to wagering on games, props, and futures for the 2024 Euro. They have dozens of leading odds for markets that other US sportsbooks aren’t even offering.
Although they have plenty of options to bet on, BetMGM is offering the most competitive future odds for the upcoming tournament. Wagering on a tournament winner, group winner, and other futures odds are aggressively priced here.
When looking at pricing for game odds and lines, BetRivers again is offering the overall best lines. They offer the most competitive moneyline, spread, and over/under odds. If you are looking to line shop, BetRivers will be a great sportsbook to start.
Euro 2024 prop betting
These bets focus on player stats, team stats, or events that may take place during a game. They are normally independent of which team wins. Euro 2024 props fit into one of three categories:
- Player props: Common examples include betting on a player to score the first goal in a game, the last goal in a game, or to score at any time. You can also back a player to score a header, to score a free kick, to receive a yellow card, or to be sent off.
- Team props: Examples include a team to score a penalty, to miss a penalty, to keep a clean sheet, or to score a goal in both halves.
- Game props: You can bet over/under on the total corners in a game, the total bookings in a game, and so on.
