Seahawks vs. Lions Prop Odds: Player Props For Amon-Ra St. Brown & More

The Detroit Lions will play host to the Seattle Seahawks in one of two Monday Night Football matchups this week. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET in Detroit, with ABC on the broadcast. The Lions were favored by 4.5 points last week and are down to 3.5-point favorites. In other NFL Week 4 odds, the over/under line is at 46 points.

Detroit (2-1) has won seven of its last nine regular season home games. The Lions dropped a 20-16 decision to Tampa Bay in Week 2 but out-gained the visitors 463-216 and simply failed to convert in the red zone. The Lions are listing tight end Sam LaPorta (ankle) as questionable and will be without All-Pro center Frank Ragnow (pec).

Seattle (3-0) has rolled past a few wounded teams to open the season under new coach Mike Macdonald. The former Ravens defensive coordinator has his new defense playing at a high level but faces his toughest challenge yet against a Lions team that finished second in the NFL in yards per game (394.2) last season and is averaging 399.7 yards through three games in 2024.

We highlight some of the top player props for this NFC matchup down below. We also cover a sportsbook promo from BetMGM.

Player props for Seahawks vs. Lions

How Geno Smith could get over 240.5 passing yards

The Seattle Seahawks have played consecutive games without lead back Kenneth Walker (abdomen) and could miss him again in Week 4. Seattle’s pass-play rate (59.7%) is around the league average, but that could change against a high-scoring Detroit team with a defense that can stop the run. When these teams met in Week 2 last season, Smith went 32-for-41 for 328 passing yards and two touchdowns in a 37-31 overtime win.

His receiving corps is arguably stronger now, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba healthy and starting to break out in his second year. The Lions’ secondary has some key injuries with nickel cornerback Brian Branch in concussion protocol, while safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle) is still not practicing.

How Geno Smith could get under 240.5 passing yards

Seattle’s offensive line has vulnerabilities, especially at right tackle with George Fant (knee) now on IR. The Seahawks are likely to start Stone Forsythe in that spot against Aidan Hutchinson, a premier pass rusher who came up with 4.5 sacks on his own in Detroit’s last home game against Tampa. With Hutchinson living in their backfield, the Bucs only managed 185 passing yards in that matchup.

Ahead of this Monday Night Football matchup, Detroit’s improved secondary held Kyler Murray to 207 passing yards the following week, and the Lions have a top cornerback now in free agent acquisition Carlton Davis III

How Amon-Ra St. Brown could get over 76.5 receiving yards

St. Brown is a true alpha receiver with incredible numbers at Ford Field. He’s averaging 90.7 receiving yards per game at 12.4 yards per reception over 17 home games since 2022 and has added 87 rushing yards in those contests. While the Seahawks have two great corners in Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen, St. Brown has a decisive quickness advantage over those bigger defenders.

St. Brown has the highest win rate (80%) against man coverage in the NFL this season, and he’s drawn 11 targets per game, good for second-most among receivers. Last year against Seattle, he caught six of seven targets for 102 yards, then proceeded to top 76 receiving yards in each of his next six games.

How Amon-Ra St. Brown could get under 76.5 receiving yards

Mike Macdonald is an excellent defensive mind, and he knows how to neutralize the opposition’s top weapons. Employing more zone defense could help Seattle’s secondary hold St. Brown in check, since his win rate is much higher against man coverage. While he caught seven of eight targets last week at Arizona, St. Brown came up a hair short of this lofty number with 75 receiving yards.

Seattle is giving up a healthy 116.3 rushing yards per game this season, and the Detroit Lions are averaging the fourth-most rushing yards per game (163), so we could see them establish the run at home in the hopes of building an early lead.
