Spain’s Path to 2026 World Cup Final
Spain has a reasonably simple, if one can use that word describing soccer, path to winning Group H. They shouldn’t have any issues at all in finishing top of their Group, with Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia not expected to cause any issues at all. Spain’s final Group game against Uruguay could potentially be more difficult, but again, we don’t envisage Luis de la Fuente’s side having too many issues.
If they finish top of the Group, they’re likely to face Austria in the Round of 32. While Austria is a good side, Spain should reach the next Round comfortably.
This is where it might get difficult for the Spanish. They could potentially face England or Croatia in the Round of 16, which will be Spain’s first real test. If they get through, Belgium are Spain’s likely opponents in the quarterfinal.
A huge semifinal could be in the cards as Spain will likely face France. What a fixture that would be! If Spain beats France, a Final against Argentina is the potential climax to the 2026 World Cup.
