The 2024 NFL Draft brings a multitude of betting options, but one of the quirkier categories is the unofficial title of Mr. Irrelevant. This moniker goes to the player who is the last pick of each NFL draft. While the team that made the pick often cuts the player well before the season begins, there are some notable exceptions.
Some online sportsbooks are offering odds on this year’s Mr. Irrelevant, among other NFL Draft betting options. Below, we’ll look at the current betting lines on the 2024 Mr. Irrelevant.

Mr. Irrelevant history
The tradition of announcing a Mr. Irrelevant for each NFL draft is widely considered to have started in 1976, popularized by former 49ers wide receiver Paul Salata. Some players selected as Mr. Irrelevant have gone on to play important roles on NFL teams, including playing in Super Bowls as well as Pro Bowls.
In recent years, quarterbacks and tight ends have been the most common position selected last, but even those margins are slim. The outcome is heavily dependent on which team picks last, what that team’s needs might be, and who’s left on the board by then. Currently, the New York Jets have the last pick in this year’s draft.
