The NFL’s first London game of the season will kick off the action on Sunday of Week 5, and it’s an intriguing matchup between the surprising Minnesota Vikings (4-0) and the New York Jets (2-2). Kickoff will be 9:30 a.m. ET at Tottenham Stadium, with NFL Network on the broadcast.
The Vikings are 2.5-point favorites on the point spread, and the Jets are getting +128 odds on the moneyline in NFL Week 5 odds. The over/under line is at 40.5 points.
Minnesota has dominated on both sides of the ball, with defensive coordinator Brian Flores earning a large share of the credit and head coach Kevin O’Connell drawing praise for helping Sam Darnold post a league-best 118.9 passer rating. Darnold was drafted third overall by the Jets in 2018, and he posted a 78.6 passer rating with 46 turnovers over 38 starts before the franchise traded him to the Panthers.
The Jets split two road games to open their season, then crushed the hapless Patriots in their home opener. Aaron Rodgers and company struggled mightily in a rain-soaked affair against Denver in Week 4, eventually losing 10-9 when Greg Zuerlein missed a last-second field goal. The Jets will hope defensive signal caller C.J. Mosley (toe) and offensive tackle Morgan Moses (knee) can return for this matchup. We also cover a NY sportsbook promo below.

Player props for Jets vs. Vikings
How Aaron Rodgers could get over 224.5 passing yards
So far this season, Flores and the Minnesota defense have baffled opposing quarterbacks early before giving up heavy yardage down the stretch. Jordan Love threw for three interceptions in Week 4 but finished with a career-high 389 passing yards. And Brock Purdy (319 yards) and C.J. Stroud (212 yards) posted decent totals against the Vikings after struggling early.
Rodgers has far more experience than those quarterbacks, so the creative blitz packages and zone defenses Flores tends to throw at the opposition might not confuse him. The Minnesota Vikings are holding opponents to 3.8 yards per carry, and Breece Hall has yet to find much traction in the Jets’ rushing attack, so Rodgers could attempt 35-plus passes in a third straight outing.
How Aaron Rodgers could get under 224.5 passing yards
It’s possible the Vikings’ personnel is underrated. The team picked up former Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore to start alongside physical cornerbacks Shaq Griffin and Byron Murphy Jr. Harrison Smith is a top-tier safety, and free agent acquisition Andrew Van Ginkel is a great coverage linebacker.
Aside from Garrett Jones, Rodgers doesn’t have any receivers capable of consistently winning one-on-one matchups against those players. The 40-year-old barely got to 225 yards against Denver, and he’s averaged just 171.5 passing yards per game in his two road starts this season. Rodgers said he’s “banged up” after last week, and he’s on the injury report with a leg injury.
How Justin Jefferson could get over 80.5 receiving yards
Jefferson has avoided any major injuries and is averaging 89.5 receiving yards per game with a touchdown in all four outings this season. He’s averaging 17.9 yards per reception (sixth among receivers) and 12.3 yards per target.
Big plays have become commonplace for Jefferson, and he’s received superior quarterback play from Darnold after maintaining his lofty numbers with a revolving door of passers down the stretch last season. The New York Jets are allowing just 128 passing yards per game, but they’ve faced three straight poor passing attacks in the Titans, Patriots, and Broncos, after giving up 231 passing yards to the 49ers in Week 1.
How Justin Jefferson could get under 80.5 receiving yards
Sauce Gardner is one of the few cornerbacks in the NFL capable of covering Jefferson without help. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound corner was an All-Pro in each of his first two seasons, and he’s allowed just 2.7 receptions per game so far this year. The Jets have another excellent cornerback opposite Gardner in D.J. Reed, who’s been even stingier, allowing 1.5 receptions per game in the two games he’s been active.
Nickelback Michael Carter II (ankle) is also back from injury. All three of those corners were active when the Jets held Jefferson to just 45 yards on seven receptions in Week 13 of the 2022-23 season.
