Ryland had missed the extra point that would have won it in regulation after Gardner Minshew’s 13-yard scoring pass to Michael Wilson tied the game with six seconds left.
- Denver Broncos rally past the Kansas City Chiefs: Denver scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter and stuffed Patrick Mahomes on fourth-and-goal to win 28-24. At 6-2, the Broncos now sit ahead of the 5-2 Chiefs atop the AFC West.
- Buffalo Bills rout the Baltimore Ravens: Buffalo rolled 36-10 to reach 6-1, but the bigger story was Lamar Jackson hurting his right thumb on Baltimore’s first offensive snap in his return from an ankle injury. Head coach Jesse Minter said Jackson will have surgery and go on injured reserve, and he could miss the rest of the regular season.
- Chicago Bears handle the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night: D’Andre Swift ran for three touchdowns and Caleb Williams played turnover-free football as Chicago won 34-17 in Seattle as a 3-point underdog. The Bears improved to 6-2, while the Seahawks fell to 4-4.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans are on bye in Week 9, while the Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers return from their Week 8 breaks. The Bengals (5-2) opened as 3.5-point favorites with a 49.5 total that has since risen toward 51.5, a nod to Joe Burrow’s 462-yard, five-touchdown day in an overtime win over Tennessee. The Falcons (3-5) need answers on offense after a 16-0 shutout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sunday, Nov. 8 (late afternoon): Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots. Two 5-3 clubs meet at Gillette Stadium at 4:25 p.m. ET on FOX. Green Bay brings extra rest after Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes in a Thursday win over the Carolina Panthers, while the Patriots held off the Miami Dolphins 24-19 on the road.
Sunday, Nov. 8 (Sunday night): Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears. Chicago (6-2) opened as a 6-point favorite over Tampa Bay (3-5) with a 46.5 total, a number posted before the Bears’ Monday win in Seattle. Health on the defensive front bears watching, since linemen Grady Jarrett (groin) and Kenatvius Street (knee) both exited that game. Jeffery Simmons, acquired in a trade with Tennessee, gave Chicago an instant lift in his debut with a sack and three pressures.
Monday, Nov. 9 (Monday night): Buffalo Bills at Minnesota Vikings. Two 6-1 teams collide at U.S. Bank Stadium with early playoff seeding on the line. A moneyline bet is where you are wagering on which team will win a game. Both options will have odds, and if the side you select goes on to victory, you win your bet. Moneyline bets can also be placed on individual contests such as tennis and golf.
Spread bets
The point spread is a number the sportsbook sets to represent the perceived gap between two teams. You can bet on the favorite to win by more than the spread, or the underdog to lose by less than the spread (or win outright). Total bets

Futures bets

Prop bets
A prop bet is a side wager on a smaller aspect within a game. The menu of options is long for NFL games and includes props based on the accomplishments of individual players or teams or the game itself. Player props are on the statistical accomplishments of an individual player during a game. Options include touchdowns scored, passing yards, and receptions.
Parlay bets
A parlay combines picks from multiple NFL games into one wager, and every selection must win for the bet to pay out. A same-game parlay works the same way but features picks from a single matchup, allowing bettors to combine selections such as a team moneyline and a player to score a touchdown. In either case, every leg must hit for the wager to cash.
