NFL Week 4 matchups and best odds

An early game in London kicks off the busy Sunday slate, while the week concludes with what should be an entertaining primetime game on Monday night. All told, we still have 15 games to look forward to. Here’s what you need to know about each matchup and the latest betting odds.

Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints (London)

The first London game of the season is a meeting of two NFC playoff hopefuls. The Vikings look like a potential contender while going 2-1, while the 1-2 Saints have been struggling offensively. Andy Dalton is expected to start this week as Jameis Winston is doubtful with a back injury. Dalvin Cook is dealing with a shoulder injury but is looking likely to play.

Cleveland Browns at Atlanta Falcons

The Browns are looking to build some momentum off last week’s Thursday win over the Steelers. The Falcons were at the Seahawks and exited with their first victory of the season. Nick Chubb is leading the league in rushing with 341 yards. Cordarelle Patterson is in third with 302. Myles Garrett could miss the game after being involved in an automobile accident.

Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys

The Commanders are looking to get back on track after being walloped by the Eagles last week. Carson Wentz had a challenging day against his former club while Washington posted just eight points. Cooper Rush has helped lead the Cowboys to two straight wins in the absence of Dak Prescott, who could return from a hand injury next week.

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

Following the opening week win over the Broncos, the Seahawks have dropped two in a row while giving up 27 points in both contests. The Lions are 1-2 after last week’s loss to the Vikings. The team is putting points on the board, but opponents have been doing the same. Amon-Ra St. Brown has been ruled out, and D’Andre Swift will miss the game as well.

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts

The Titans and Colts have some company in the AFC South race this season as the Jaguars are looking much improved. It’s early, but this divisional showdown could prove to be pivotal as the season moves along. Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry have been relatively quiet to start the year, but they are still players to watch for the season-long rushing title chase.

Chicago Bears at New York Giants

There’s a chance of rain on Sunday when a pair of surprising 2-1 teams square off. The Bears pulled out a close home win over the Texans last week, while the Giants couldn’t get the job done at home versus the Cowboys. Roquan Smith and the Bears defense are off to a solid start, while the Giants are dealing with a number of injuries in the receiving corps.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Philadelphia Eagles

There’s potential for a rainy weekend in the northeast, so this is another forecast that bears monitoring. The Jaguars are fresh off of a dominant road win over the Chargers, while the Eagles had little trouble dealing with the Commanders last week. Philadelphia is the last remaining undefeated team and a pretty big favorite to keep the streak alive.

New York Jets at Pittsburgh Steelers

Two weeks ago, the Jets pulled out a stunning win over the Browns, but it was back to earth last time out as they were no match for the Bengals. Zach Wilson has been cleared to return after missing three weeks with a knee injury. The Steelers are riding a two-game skid and continue to struggle on offense. The current forecast calls for a chance of light rain.

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens

Two of the favorites to represent the AFC in the next Super Bowl square off in one of the marquee games of the week. There’s a chance of rain in the forecast, and also the potential for lots of fireworks as Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, two of the MVP betting favorites, duel it out. Both teams enter at 2-1 and will be looking to make a statement.

Los Angeles Chargers at Houston Texans

Injury concerns continue to mount for a Chargers team that was blown out by the Jaguars last week. Joey Bosa is now on IR after suffering a groin injury. Justin Herbert was slowed by a rib injury last week, but he’s expected to give it another go. Meanwhile, not much has been expected out of the 0-2-1 Texans, but they are making life difficult for opponents.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers

The Cardinals put up a fight last week, but the end result was a loss to the Rams to drop to 1-2 on the year. The Panthers got their first win over the Saints last week and looked much improved doing so. There are injury concerns to monitor on both sides; Christian McCaffrey is questionable with a quad injury, while AJ Green is doubtful with a bone bruise, and Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore are both questionable.

New England Patriots at Green Bay Packers

There are problems in New England. Brian Hoyer is expected to start for Mac Jones, who suffered a high ankle sprain last week. The already struggling offense could be further muted as a result. The Packers offense also hasn’t been lights-out to start the season, but the defense has been doing its part while the club has racked up two straight wins.

Denver Broncos at Las Vegas Raiders

Offensive problems are also of concern in Denver. Russell Wilson and company are 2-1, but they have yet to achieve liftoff. The Raiders are 0-3 and need to stop the bleeding. A playoff team last year, the club has to get a move on if it has any hopes of being in the playoff chase. Las Vegas won both meetings over its AFC West rival a season ago.

Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Both clubs enter at 2-1, but the state of affairs is different. The Chiefs are 2-1 and have looked like a contender while doing so. The Buccaneers have a matching record, but the defense has been doing the heavy lifting as the team deals with a rash of offensive injuries. In a potential lift for the Tampa Bay offense, Mike Evans returns after a one-game suspension.

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers

A pair of NFC West rivals close out Week 4 under the MNF lights. The Rams have won two straight after being blown out by the Bills in the opener. The 49ers are 1-2 and looking to bounce back from a close loss to the Broncos. The teams played three times last year. San Francisco won two in the regular season, while Los Angeles took the playoff game.
