Two meetings of ranked teams highlight this week’s schedule, the results of which could have a big impact on college football playoff odds.
No. 7 Alabama will visit No. 11 Tennessee for a battle of 5-1 SEC teams. The Crimson Tide escaped with a 27-25 home win over South Carolina last week, while the Volunteers needed overtime to exit with a 23-17 victory over Florida.
No. 5 Georgia, meanwhile, will hit the road to face No. 1 Texas in a meeting between two of the preseason national title favorites. The Bulldogs are 5-1 following a 41-31 win over Mississippi State. The Longhorns are 6-0 after a 34-3 victory over Oklahoma.
Elsewhere, Army and Navy are ranked in the AP Top 25 poll simultaneously for the first time since 1960. Both are heavy home favorites this week as they look to keep their undefeated starts to the season going.
Three of the top 25 teams will be on the road this weekend as double-digit favorites: Notre Dame will visit Georgia Tech, Texas A&M will be at Mississippi State, and SMU will head out west to face Stanford.
