UFC 298 Odds: Updated Lines For Volkanovski vs. Topuria And Full Card

UFC 298 goes down this Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The main event for this UFC pay-per-view pits featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski against undefeated challenger Ilia Topuria. LegalSportsReport’s Ben Fowlkes breaks down the main event and UFC odds for the full card this Saturday.

While the line on this title fight has moved back and forth since odds first came out, Volkanovski is at -110 (wager $110, win $100) in his sixth defense of the 145-pound title. The undefeated Topuria is at +110 (wager $100, win $110) in his first crack at a UFC belt.

Volkanovski (26-3) is coming off his first knockout loss in over a decade and his only stoppage loss in the UFC. As with his first career defeat, it came in a move up in weight classes as he made another unsuccessful attempt to challenge for Islam Makhachev’s 155-pound title. Volkanovski took the fight on extremely short notice, against the advice of his coaches, and lost via first-round knockout back in October. Some questioned his decision to get back in the cage so soon after a devastating head kick finish, but the champ has yet to lose a fight in this division.

Topuria (14-0) has been in the UFC for just a little over three years, but his rise has been rapid. He reeled off three straight knockouts before submitting grappling specialist Bryce Mitchell at UFC 282, thus proving that he’s more than just a talented striker. He’s sounded supremely confident in the lead up to this fight, promising a knockout in the first or second round. At 27, he’s got youth on his side against the 35-year-old champ. What he doesn’t have is a ton of experience in high-profile fights like this.
