Song Yadong vs. Chris Gutierrez
Yadong (20-7-1) is a powerful striker for the bantamweight division, and he excels at luring opponents into boxing range before stinging them with counters. His wrestling, both offensively and defensively, has steadily improved. But it’s his hand speed and his countering ability that make him seem like a stylistic favorite here.
Gutierrez (20-5-2) has found success in the past by setting up his offense with kicks from range. That could be slightly harder here, fighting in the smaller cage that the UFC uses in all its Apex events. He’ll likely have to come forward, and he could be at a speed and power disadvantage when trading punches.
The key variable might be the ground game. While neither fighter usually looks to wrestle as his first option, both have it in their toolbox. It’s just a question of who will reach for it first, and whether he does it as a true part of his game plan or simply as a desperation move.
UFC Fight Night main event prop bet odds
Yadong has seen his last four fights finish inside the distance, all by TKO/KO. He won three of those four, and knockouts account for nine of his 20 pro wins. Gutierrez has gone to a decision in five of his last seven fights. He’s got more wins by decision than any other method, with knockouts as a close second. Gutierrez has just one submission win, and that came outside the UFC.
