Downtrodden Trojans look to right the ship against Ducks
Week 10 of the college football season left USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams crying on the sideline after a tough loss at home to the Washington Huskies, 52-42. In that game, Williams, a once Heisman odds favorite, threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns. The Trojans dropped to 7-3 and are no longer inside the AP Top 25. This week, they’ll head out on the road against the Oregon Ducks, who are 8-1 and coming off a 63-19 win over California. Quarterback Bo Nix threw for 386 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
Ducks look to keep winning against defenseless Trojans
In Week 10, we saw the Trojans defense let them down again, allowing 52 points. USC fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch following the loss. The Trojans have allowed the 117th most points per game in the country at 34.5. That average has ballooned to 45 over the past three games. The Ducks offense is averaging 43.3 points and over 324 passing yards per game.
USC’s path to victory likely includes any defensive stop
Against Washington, the Trojans forced just one punt, and the Huskies scored at least once every quarter. In Week 9, the Trojans beat California 50-49. Still, if not for an interception and three lost fumbles, it may have been a different story. The Ducks offense, meanwhile, ranks as one of the best in the country so far this season.
