Germany heads into the 2026 FIFA World Cup under pressure after disappointing exits in each of the last two tournaments. Despite those struggles, World Cup betting sites still view Germany as a dangerous team capable of making a deep run thanks to its tournament pedigree and emerging young talent.
The four-time champions open play in Group E against Ecuador, Ivory Coast, and World Cup newcomers Curaçao, giving them a strong opportunity to rebuild confidence early in the competition. Currently ranked 10th in the FIFA World Rankings, Germany will be looking to reestablish itself among soccer’s elite on the sport’s biggest stage.
Below, we’ll break down Germany’s odds at online sportsbooks, the schedule, and potential path to the World Cup Final.

Germany’s Path to the 2026 World Cup Final
Hopes are high that Germany will progress to the latter stages of the 2026 World Cup. While Germany has been on the receiving end of shock World Cup results in the previous two tournaments, it’s unlikely they’ll have too many issues in progressing through the Group Stage this time around, and reasonably comfortably at that.
We expect Germany to finish top of Group E. If they do, they’ll likely face South Korea in the Round of 32. A game we’d expect Germany to win, reaching the Round of 16 should (albeit a big word when it comes to soccer) be reasonably comfortable.
However, this is where it will get tough for Julian Nagelsmann’s side. There’s a strong possibility they’ll face France in the Round of 16, who are currently among the favorites to win the World Cup. If Germany does get through, they’ll likely face Brazil or Morocco in the quarterfinal, which could lead to a semifinal matchup with Spain. If the four-time winners do reach the Final, they’ll likely fight it out for the World Cup trophy with Argentina.
