Thursday Night Football player props: Chargers vs. Raiders

The Raiders went scoreless at home on Sunday, losing a 3-0 shutout to the Vikings while workhorse back Josh Jacobs suffered a quad injury. Their best defensive player, Maxx Crosby, has been playing through a knee injury. Jacobs could give it a go this week with the Raiders holding onto slim wild card hopes.

The Chargers lost Justin Herbert (finger) for the season during a 24-7 home loss to the Broncos on Sunday. Easton Stick will fill in at quarterback the rest of the way with his receiving corps banged up, although Josh Palmer (knee) may return from a multi-week absence for this contest.

Below, we will take a look at some player props for this matchup. If you are located in a state where Pickem contests are legal, feel free to check out our PrizePicks, and Underdog reviews.

The total line for this game is fairly low, with both teams coming off low-scoring outputs in Week 14. The Raiders are averaging 11.5 points and 282.5 yards per game over their last four contests, and Jacobs has handled 83 touches in that span.

Austin Ekeler broke a three-game scoreless streak with a rushing touchdown against Denver. Ekeler has led the NFL in scrimmage touchdowns over his previous two campaigns, but he is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry with six total touchdowns this season following an early-season ankle sprain.

When Antonio Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels, he named Aidan O’Connell the starting quarterback, and the rookie is averaging 210.4 passing yards per game with three touchdowns and five interceptions over his last five outings. Overall, he’s completing 63.3% of his passes and owns a 75.7 passer rating.

Easton Stick completed 13 of 24 passes for 179 yards — including a 57-yard completion to rookie Quentin Johnson — during his relief appearance last week. Stick is a former fifth-round pick out of North Dakota State who has spent five seasons on and off the Chargers’ active roster. He has rushed for five touchdowns and thrown for four more in 13 preseason games, and this would be his first regular season start.
