Super Bowl injury report

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for the final step in their Super Bowl three-peat quest, they have the particularly good fortune of essentially being healthy in terms of the injury report. There is one minor exception in the form of reserve receiver/returner Skyy Moore, but the fact all of Kansas City’s front-line players on either side of the ball are ready to roll easily overshadows that one minor obstacle.

The Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Injury report for Moore

Moore was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 24 due to a core-muscle injury. The 2022 second-round pick had played a minuscule role over the six regular-season games he’d appeared in before hitting IR, failing to come up with any of his three targets and recording 43 kickoff-return yards.

That was a far cry from Moore’s first two seasons, when he’d been a bigger part of the Kansas City Chiefs’ pair of Super Bowl runs by compiling a combined 43-494-1 receiving line, six carries for 47 yards and 136 combined return yards across 30 regular-season contests. Moore added five receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown along with two carries for seven yards during the 2022 postseason.

Moore didn’t play from Week 16 on last season due to a knee injury, and despite having had his practice window opened Thursday, Jan. 30, and putting in consecutive limited practices to close out the Super Bowl off-week, he still earned a doubtful tag to close out the week. Naturally, he’ll still have a chance to improve his outlook, but for the moment, his chances of suiting up appear low.
