Player props for Raiders vs. Chargers
How Davante Adams could hit over 70.5 receiving yards
Adams led the Raiders in receptions and receiving yards last season, averaging 67.3 receiving yards per game. In two games against the Los Angeles Chargers last year, he never failed to hit this mark, going for 75 yards through the air at Los Angeles in the first meeting and then torching the Bolts for 101 yards and a TD at home later in the season.
The Chargers had the third-worst passing defense in the league in 2023, allowing 249.8 yards per game through the air.
How Davante Adams could hit under 70.5 receiving yards
The passing game in general is something of a question mark for the Las Vegas Raiders coming into this season. The team named Gardner Minshew to the starting role after acquiring him in the offseason, but he wasn’t terribly effective for Indianapolis last season.
Adams typically needs seven or more receptions to eclipse 70 yards. If Minshew can’t get him the ball often enough, he might struggle to hit that mark against a Chargers defense that’s been revamped by former Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.
How Justin Herbert could hit over 1.5 passing TDs
Herbert had a rocky season last year after dealing with injuries, but Los Angeles has committed to him as the franchise QB under new head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers were in the top half of the league in passing yards per game last season, and Harbaugh’s offense will likely lean on Herbert to produce points this year with a ground game that lacks any real standout stars.
How Justin Herbert could hit under 1.5 passing TDs
The Raiders had one of the better defenses against the pass last season, giving up just 212.4 passing yards per game and holding opponents to 19.5 points per game — good for fifth overall in the AFC. Herbert also struggled late in the season, notching just one TD pass in his last three games.
Herbert was held to one passing TD in his only start against the Raiders last season. The last time he threw for two or more touchdowns against this team was September 2022.
