NFL passing props

Prop bettors have plenty of options for each game, beyond wagering on the QBs:

As for the QBs specifically, here’s a look at some of the top NFL passing props:

Over/under passing yard props

For each of the starting quarterbacks who are set to play, sportsbooks will release an over/under line on the total number of passing yards for that QB during the game. As an example, the bar may be 269.5 yards for Patrick Mahomes. If you wager on the over, then you’ll need him to throw for 270 or more yards to win the bet. And if you choose under, you’ll need him to get 269 yards or fewer.

Passing TD prop bets

The top NFL betting sites also offer over/under betting on the total number of passing touchdowns that each of the quarterbacks will throw during their weekly games. Many of the lines will be at 1.5, but you will come across the occasional outlier, such as 0.5 or 2.5. As an example, if Brock Purdy is at 1.5 and you bet the over, you have a winning bet if he throws for two or more. If he doesn’t, your bet loses.

Longest completion props

A lengthy passing play can quickly get fans out of their seats and change the trajectory of a game. You can also bet on the over/under for the longest completion for all of the weekly starters. Let’s say that the line is 24.5 yards for Dak Prescott. If he completes a pass of 25 or more yards, those who bet on the over win. If his longest toss is less than that, then under bettors win.

What are QB passing props?

You can bet on the performance of the league’s top quarterbacks with passing props. When the season is underway, there will be options for each game all season long. For example, you could place over/under bets on passing yardage or TDs.

In the offseason, there are season-long player props available for betting in the futures market, some of which are also in an over/under format. You can also bet on the league leaders in various categories, such as passing yards and TDs.

Which QBs have the best chance to lead the league in yards?

Heading into the regular season, favorites to lead the league in passing yards included C.J. Stroud, Patrick Mahomes, and Dak Prescott. For the 2023-24 season, Tua Tagovailoa topped the league in passing yards at 4,624, and Dak Prescott led in passing touchdowns with 36. Additional season-long QB futures include over/unders on passing yards or TDs for individual quarterbacks.

Most passing yards

For this wager, the goal is to pick the QB who will lead the league in passing yards for the season. The best NFL betting sites will list the candidates, ranging from the top favorites down to extreme long shots. The odds at the top may look like this:

Thanks to the positive odds across the board, there’s the chance for some exceptional returns, even when wagering on favorites. At odds of +400, a winning $10 bet would return $40 in profit, while $50 would bring back $200. When trying to project season leaders, be sure to weigh factors like injury risk, available weapons on offense, and continuity on the coaching staff.

Most passing TDs

You can also place your bets on which QB will lead the league in passing TDs. The bet works in the same fashion as betting on the passing yards leader. There will be odds attached to all of the top QBs, and the goal is to pick the league leader when all is said and done.

Single-game QB passing props

For individual games, many QB props are available in the over/under format at most online sportsbooks.

When all 32 NFL teams are in action, bettors have a host of QBs to choose from. You can focus on your favorite players, try to find good matchups, or try out a specific strategy, such as basing your wagers on the best odds and lines.

What happens to a passing prop if the QB gets injured?

Which QB threw for the most yards in a single season?

Peyton Manning holds the record with 5,477 yards. He set the mark while playing for the Denver Broncos in 2013. Drew Brees is second with a 5,476-yard season for the New Orleans Saints in 2011.

Which QB has led the NFL in passing yards the most times?

Drew Brees has the record with seven passing titles, all of which he won as a member of the Saints. Sonny Jurgensen and Dan Marino are tied for second with five league-leading seasons apiece.

Which QB led the league in passing yards last season?

Which QB is favored to lead the league in passing yards this season?

Patrick Mahomes is the favorite to lead the league in the 2024-25 NFL season.
