NFC West teams
The NFC West has consisted of four teams since the 2002 NFL season. The Seahawks have won the most titles since that point with nine. The longest title drought belongs to the Cardinals, who last won the division in 2002.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers won the NFC West for the second consecutive time last season. San Francisco got off to a lopsided win over the Jets to start this year but lost two straight after that to drop to 2-2. Star RB Christian McCaffrey is dealing with a potentially serious Achilles injury and has been added to the injured reserve. San Francisco has won the division three times in the last five years.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams finished second in the division a season ago and secured a wild card berth, losing to the Lions in the team’s playoff opener. Los Angeles stumbled in Week 1, losing in overtime on the road against the Lions. The Rams are now 1-3 after a big win over division rival San Francisco in Week 3, followed by a loss the following week. Los Angeles has won the NFC West four times since 2002, with the last crown coming in 2021.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks finished third in the division last season with a record of 9-8. The club is 3-1 after suffering its first loss of the season last week in a lopsided road defeat against the Detroit Lions. Seattle’s last division title came in 2020.
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals closed last season with a record of 4-13, finishing last in the NFC West for the second straight season. The club last reached the playoffs in 2021. Arizona is off to a 1-3 start but has high hopes for rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr., whose production has picked up in the last two games. The team has won the division three times since 2002, most recently in 2015.
