Lions Vs. Ravens Super Bowl 58 Odds: Look Ahead Point Spreads, Moneylines & Totals

If the Super Bowl matchup ends up as Baltimore versus Detroit, the Ravens would be -4.5 favorites, with an over/under line of 49 points. The Baltimore Ravens will host the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC championship on Sunday, followed by the Detroit Lions at the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game.

The Lions are in the NFC championship for the first time since 1992, when they lost to Washington. The Lions dropped their next eight playoff games and hosted their first postseason game at Ford Field this year, when they beat the Rams in the wild card round and then the Buccaneers in the divisional round.

The Ravens last appeared in the AFC championship in 2013, when they beat the Patriots en route to a Super Bowl victory over the 49ers. The Ravens went 2-5 over their next seven playoff games prior to their divisional round victory over the Texans. Lamar Jackson is 2-3 in playoff starts leading into the AFC title game.

Lions vs. Ravens Super Bowl betting preview

Detroit Lions vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens allowed a league-low 16.1 points per game this season and held opponents to the lowest yards per pass attempt (5.2) while forcing the third-most turnovers (1.7) per game. Defensive coordinator Mike McDonald is a hot coaching candidate after the defensive unit’s success. Baltimore’s defense held Houston to just 213 yards of offense in the divisional round.

Lamar Jackson rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional round against Houston and is now averaging 103.3 rushing yards with three touchdowns over his last four playoff games. The Ravens hope to get All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) back for the AFC championship.

The Lions are 6-3 on the road this season despite averaging more points per game (30.1) at home. Jared Goff has historically found more success under domes and retractable roofs, which would be the case in the Super Bowl.

Detroit’s rushing attack has been among the best in the NFL, with rookie Jahmyr Gibbs taking on a bigger role at the expense of veteran David Montgomery. Detroit’s secondary has struggled this season and allowed 358 passing yards per game in the team’s first two games this postseason. The Lions have held three of their last four opponents under 90 rushing yards.
