Jets vs. Steelers Odds & Props: Player Props For Breece Hall & More

The revamped New York Jets will be in Acrisure Stadium to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night this week, looking to win their first game since firing former head coach Robert Saleh.

NFL Week 7 odds favor the Jets despite the Steelers having two more wins and being at home, but the over/under line is anticipating the potential for a low-scoring affair between two teams that pride themselves on sound defense. There’ll also be plenty of player props to choose from.

The Steelers are coming off a 32-13 win to run their record to 4-2, while the Jets have the reverse record of 2-4 and are looking to kick-start their season after trading for Davante Adams.

We also cover a NY sportsbook promo, and a PA sportsbook promo ahead of the game.

Player props for New York Jets vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

How Breece Hall could get over 60.5 rushing yards

The 2024 NFL season hasn’t been kind to the Jets’ offense, and especially not to Breece Hall. Hall has carried the ball 83 times for 310 yards and two touchdowns, with a 36.1% rushing success rate, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. It hasn’t been a productive season to date, but Hall showed up against the Bills in Week 6, carrying the ball 18 times for 113 yards with four runs of 10 yards or more, per PFF, for his best performance of the season.

Head coach Jeff Ulbrich has already stated that the New York Jets are committed to running the ball more, and that bodes well for Hall. His 18 carries against the Bills were a season high, and the running game looked better than it has all season. Even with Davante Adams now a Jet, the running game seems to be at the center of the club’s offense.

How Hall could get under 60.5 rushing yards

The Jets’ offense will have to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7. Through six games, the Steelers’ defense has been characteristically itself, allowing just 85.5 rushing yards (fourth-fewest) and 14.3 points per game (second-fewest). It’s a matchup nightmare for any offense in the NFL, but especially for those aiming to pound the rock. All of the hard work starts in the trenches. Cam Heyward is one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL at stopping the run, and T.J. Watt’s name strikes fear into the heart of offenses. The Steelers’ defense could well shut down Hall and the Jets’ running game this Sunday Night Football

How Najee Harris could get over 51.5 rushing yards

Najee Harris eclipsed 100 rushing yards for the first time in a Week 6 blowout win versus the Raiders, carrying the ball 14 times for 106 yards and a touchdown. It was also just the second time this season that Harris has averaged over 4 yards per carry, and his 7.6 yards per carry was the highest of his career. Harris has been a volume-over-efficiency runner for most of his career, but he broke off a 36-yard touchdown run against the Raiders and still had three separate runs for over 10 yards, per PFF.

The Steelers’ offense will take on a New York defense that was uncharacteristically undisciplined against the Bills on Monday night. Per PFF, they had eight missed tackles in the running game as the Bills pounded the rock effectively. The Steelers could lean on Harris more as they hand Russell Wilson his first start as a Steeler, and that could lead to more opportunities to showcase his ability as a runner.

How Najee Harris could get under 51.5 rushing yards

The Jets’ defense has been one of the most consistently impressive units in the NFL for the last few years, a tough feat as year-to-year consistency on defense is difficult. However, the Jets have been among the top five in yards allowed for the last three seasons, and only the Tennessee Titans have allowed fewer offensive yards. A lot of that is down to the hard work of the pass defense, but the Jets have the horses to be a strong defense against the run.
The return of Jaylen Warren could also hamper Harris. The two have long been a solid one-two punch in the Pittsburgh backfield, but Warren has missed a few games due to injury and rarely featured in 2024. He returned against the Raiders in Week 6 but played a bit-part role, carrying the ball just six times for seven yards. He could eat into Harris’ touches as he ramps up his return from injury. And the Steelers could even lean into Wilson delivering a potentially more pass-heavy gameplan in his first start at quarterback.
