Player props for Bills vs. Texans

How Josh Allen could get over 1.5 passing TDs

Through the season’s first four weeks, quarterbacks facing the Houston Texans are averaging approximately 17 attempts, 29 completions, 184 passing yards, and two passing touchdowns per game, with two or more touchdowns in three of four games.

The only game where opposing quarterbacks didn’t get two or more TDs was Week 2 when Houston played the Chicago Bears and quarterback Caleb Williams in Williams’ second pro game.

How Josh Allen could get under 1.5 passing TDs

So far this season, Allen has thrown for one or zero touchdowns in two games, including Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens on the road. Those were also games where he threw for fewer than 184 yards, which is what the Texans are allowing per game.

The Texans also allowed 20 carries for 140 yards in Week 4, so we could see the Buffalo Bills turn to the running game more.

How C.J. Stroud could get over 2.5 rush attempts

Stroud isn’t known for being a runner, but he’s had three attempts or more in three games this season. Throughout his career, he’s had three rush attempts or more in 11 games.

The Bills have also allowed opposing quarterbacks to run an average of four times for 34 yards per game. The Texans could be without running back Joe Mixon once again, too, allowing for perhaps some designed runs to help convert a must-have first down.

How C.J. Stroud could get under 2.5 rush attempts

The Bills are allowing an average of four quarterback rush attempts per game, but the Bills have also played QBs like Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson, who are known for their running ability. In Week 2, they allowed three attempts, but it was two to Tua Tagovailoa and one to Skylar Thompson

Stroud is a pass-first player. He has had two rush attempts or fewer in eight games in his career. Additionally, the Bills’ pass rush has generated 12 sacks this season, which is tied for sixth-most in the league.
