Another Maryland professional sports team has announced a sports betting partner.

The Baltimore Orioles recently announced a partnership with SuperBook. The deal includes an MD sports betting lounge at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore.

“The Orioles are thrilled to partner with SuperBook to enhance our gameday experience with the introduction of their first-ever on-premise sports lounge,” Orioles SVP and Chief Revenue Officer T.J. Brightman said in a release. “While our organization is striving to build the next World Series contender in Charm City, we are constantly exploring unique opportunities to engage with Birdland’s diverse fanbase and welcome new visitors to downtown Baltimore.

“The addition of a SuperBook sportsbook only reinforces our iconic ballpark’s standing as one of the premier entertainment destinations in the region.”

Maryland sports betting lounge

The SuperBook Sports Lounge at Camden Yards is expected to open next year. It will include a “social atmosphere, including food and beverages.”

“SuperBook Sports is excited about this partnership with the Baltimore Orioles,” SuperBook VP of Marketing Kristin Mackey said. “The heritage and tradition of the Orioles brand fits perfectly with the SuperBook brand. To be a part of ‘The Ballpark That Forever Changed Baseball’ is an honor, and we look forward to bringing a one-of-a-kind sports lounge experience to fans. The future of the Orioles is bright, and we look forward to continuing to grow together for years to come.”

SuperBook will also see branding throughout the ballpark and in the MLB Ballpark app.

Maryland sports betting growing

Maryland voters approved sports betting in 2020 with retail sports betting launching in December 2021. Legislation designated retail sports betting licenses for the state’s professional teams, including the Orioles.

There is no launch date for mobile sports betting in Maryland. However, a recent regulatory meeting suggests a launch by the Super Bowl is possible.

There could be up to 60 mobile operators in Maryland.

Maryland professional teams add partners

The Baltimore Ravens have announced a variety of partnerships, but no retail sportsbook at M&T Bank Stadium. The partners include BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Washington Commanders recently received their license from the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission. That will likely be a retail Fanatics Sportsbook, according to a report from the Washington Business Journal.

The Commanders play games in Maryland at FedEx Field. Because the team practices in Virginia, the Commanders also have a VA sports betting partnership with FanDuel Sportsbook.

SuperBook footprint expands

The SuperBook opened in Las Vegas in 1986. The SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas is one of the most well-known sportsbooks in the world.

In October 2020, SuperBook Sports launched Colorado sports betting. New Jersey sports betting and Arizona sports betting followed in 2021.

SuperBook debuted in Tennessee sports betting earlier this year and expects to enter Iowa sports betting soon.

Ohio sports betting and Indiana sports betting could see SuperBook early next year.
