The MGC opened its application period May 15.

Other applications are due Sept. 12 if they wish to launch Dec. 1.

DraftKings, Underdog partners unknown

Both DraftKings and Underdog have not revealed if they have a market access partnership.

There are licenses tied to the state’s casino operators and professional sports teams. There are also two untethered licenses that the MGC will award.

It is possible they applied for the untethered licenses.

Other market-leading operators, such as FanDuel and Fanatics, are near shoo-ins to apply. FanDuel and DraftKings poured more than $40 million into the ballot initiative to legalize sports betting.

Penn, which operates ESPN BetBally’sBoyd Gaming, and Caesars, will likely apply and operate through their land-based casinos in the Show-Me State. Rush Street Interactive executives played up the state’s launch in an earnings call over the winter.
