BetMGM has its entry point into the Missouri sports betting market ahead of the December launch target.
Century Casinos announced Tuesday it has partnered with BetMGM for the upcoming Missouri sports betting market.
“We are excited to partner with BetMGM, a leading online sports betting and gaming entertainment company with a dynamic and innovative brand” Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, co-CEOs of Century Casinos, said in the release. “This partnership is another step forward in leveraging our Missouri licenses and delivering premium entertainment experiences for our customers.”
BetMGM Missouri details
Missouri sports betting law gives the state’s 13 riverboat casinos in-person and mobile sportsbook licenses. Century Casinos operates Century Casino & Hotel Cap Girardeau and Century Casino Caruthersville.
The “long-term” agreement allows BetMGM to operate in-person and mobile sportsbooks under Century Casino & Hotel Cap Girardeau’s license in Missouri.
Under the deal, BetMGM will pay Century Casinos a percentage of net gambling revenue, with a guaranteed minimum. Century Casinos will decide on the in-person sportsbook offerings.
Missouri sports betting timeline
The Missouri Gaming Commission opened the sports betting license application process this month. Licensing rules go into effect Aug. 30, with a review process and background check process afterward.
The MGC issued a timeline of application due dates, beginning with July 15 for the two independent licenses issued through the agency. Operators for licenses connected to casinos and teams must turn in apps by Sept. 12 to be live by the MGC confirmed launch date of Dec. 1.
