PrizePicks bolstered its visibility in Texas with its latest partnership.
On Tuesday, the daily fantasy sports operator announced its agreement with the Houston Astros to be the MLB club’s official DFS partner.
“This partnership is all about bringing more fun and bigger rewards to PrizePicks players in Houston,” said Mike Quigley, Chief Marketing Officer at PrizePicks. “We’re rolling out new promotions and experiences that make following the Astros even more exciting for fans — both at the ballpark and at home.”
The deal with the Astros is part of PrizePicks’s push into states without legal sports betting. The brand partnered with the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres last month.
PrizePicks gets sign-ups at stadium
One key aspect of the partnership is PrizePicks receives in-stadium activations from baseball fans at Daikin Park.
The multi-year deal also includes PrizePicks branding prominently placed throughout the stadium, including both static and rotational signage.
The brand also sponsors the “More or Less” segments that run before games on the Astros Radio Network.
DFS is king in Texas, for now
Sports betting is unlikely to come to Texas anytime soon, so DFS contests like PrizePicks are the closest those residents will get to betting on parlays for the next few years.
There are only a few weeks left in the 2025 Texas legislative session. No miracles are expected, as any betting bills were considered “dead on arrival” back in March.
That puts the next opportunity to consider legalizing betting in Texas a year and a half away since the state legislature only meets every other year.
