Super Bowl 59

The thinking behind this may seem obvious, but there is more to it than just Patrick Mahomes. While the biggest reason to believe the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl is because Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent — the best quarterback in his era and chasing Tom Brady as the greatest of all time — he also has a great team around him.

Mahomes has fantastic weapons on offense, and Andy Reid is a Hall of Fame head coach who, depending on how much longer he coaches, is putting himself in the debate of greatest coaches of all time. Add in a strong offensive line and a good defense that has been very clutch, and the reasons to believe the Chiefs will win it all are numerous.

With Super Bowl betting as the primary topic this week, we will break it down for you and make a case why, based on coaching, offense, defense, and special teams, the Kansas City Chiefs will win their third straight Super Bowl. For a different take, you can also check out why the Eagles will win Super Bowl 59.

Chiefs win the Super Bowl because of coaching

The Chiefs have the coaching edge in this Super Bowl matchup with Andy Reid alone. He is a legendary coach whose offensive creativity is second to none. He is one of just a handful of NFL head coaches who is also the team’s offensive playcaller. He is not the only star on the coaching staff, though.

Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is widely regarded as one of the best defensive minds in football. A big secret behind the Chiefs’ current run has been their defense. In their most recent game, against the Bills, it was not the offense that sealed the victory but the defense with Spagnuolo dialing up some perfectly time blitzes and forcing the Bills and Josh Allen off the field when they had a chance for a game-winning drive.

Chiefs win the Super Bowl because of offense

The Chiefs’ offense is not inside the top 10 for total yards or points, but what it is is clutch. When the Chiefs need to put up points or come up with game-winning drives, they almost always do. One thing to note is all the injuries the Kansas City offense has dealt with this season. Starters like Isiah Pacheco and Hollywood Brown missed a lot of time this season but are healthy now.

There are also players like DeAndre Hopkins and Kareem Hunt who were not with the Chiefs at the beginning of the season. With new additions and improved health, the Chiefs’ offense in the playoffs has been the best it has been all season.

Chiefs win the Super Bowl because of defense

The Kansas City defense is among the top 10 in yards allowed and top five in points allowed in the NFL. The defense is not just good. It is elite. It starts up front with defensive lineman Chris Jones, a perennial All-Pro who lines up at every spot on the line.

Then linebackers Nick Bolton and Drue Tranquill are elite tacklers who help take away any team’s rushing attack. As for the defensive backs, they may not have a bunch of All-Pro guys, but they are a solid group that communicates well and limits big plays.

Chiefs win the Super Bowl because of special teams

The Chiefs have a strong special teams group led by kicker Harrison Butker, who missed four regular season games with an injury but has been perfect in the playoffs, going four for four on field goals and five for five on extra points. He is also a weapon because of his leg strength, with a career-best of 62 yards, and is 30 for 45 from over 50 yards in his career. Last but not least, punter Matt Araiza has one of the biggest legs in the NFL and can flip the field as good as any punter in the league.
