Yankees, Dodgers World Series odds shift

The Dodgers’ odds of winning the series moved from -2200 to -1000 after losing Game 4 11-4. That marked the first time a team up 3-0 in the Fall Classic failed to sweep since the 1970 Baltimore Orioles allowed a Game 5 to the Cincinnati Reds.

Of course, the Orioles would go on to win, as no team has ever completed a four-game comeback after falling down 3-0 in the World Series. The Yankees moved from +1000 to +650 to buck the trend and make history following their Game 4 win.

Boosted: Freeman to HR + Dodgers ML

Bet365 is boosting Freddie Freeman to hit a home run parlayed with the Dodgers moneyline from +800 to +900.

Freeman is on a historic tear right now, homering in each of the series’ first four games and in his last six consecutive World Series games, a streak that extends to when he played for Atlanta in 2021.

Gerrit Cole is expected to start for the Yankees tonight. He’s given up just one home run all postseason but is playing on short rest after going six innings in Game 1. Freeman’s last and only homer off Cole came in 2017 when the Yankees ace was still pitching for Pittsburgh. Cole has been New York’s best starting pitcher all postseason, with a 1-0 record, 2.82 ERA, and 16 strikeouts so far.

The Dodgers are expected to start Jack Flaherty, who is 1-2 with a 6.10 ERA and 14 strikeouts in the postseason.

Freeman is, by a wide margin, the most bet player to hit a home run tonight at bet365.

Boosted: Ohtani, Judge both to HR

Bet365 is boosting Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani both to hit home runs from +800 to +900.

Baseball’s two biggest stars have been anything but in this series and are more than overdue for breakouts. Both led their respective leagues in home runs during the regular season but have failed to go the distance so far on the big stage.

Judge went 1-2 in Game 4 with a walk and an RBI but is in the middle of one of the worst playoff slumps of any star in recent memory, batting just .152 and nearly leading the postseason with 20 strikeouts. Judge has gone yard twice these playoffs, both against the Guardians in the ALCS.

Against Flaherty, Judge is 0-3 in three plate appearances in his career.

Just ahead of Judge, with a postseason-worst 21 strikeouts, is Ohtani, who is playing through a dislocated shoulder injury he suffered in Game 2. Ohtani has said that has not affected his game; however, he’s just 1-7 since the injury, versus 10-37 prior in the playoffs. His two home runs this postseason came in back-to-back games against the Mets in the NLCS.

Against Cole, Ohtani is 4-23 with a homer and three RBIs in 24 plate appearances in his career.
