Sam McQuillan joined Legal Sports Report as a lead writer in December 2022. He covers sports betting business news. His journalism career has spanned from covering presidential candidates to NFL Pro Bowlers and international rockstars.

Prior to joining Legal Sports Report, Sam was a sports betting reporter with The Action Network, where he lead legislative coverage, wrote about the NBA and edited freelance news stories.

Sam is an avid basketball fan and maintains his own blog about betting on the sport.

As a tax reporter for Bloomberg in 2020, his coverage of fantasy sports earned him two national awards from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing.

Sam is a graduate of Penn State, where he covered basketball and hockey for the student-run DailyCollegian newspaper.
