Michigan online casino revenue approached $196.7 million in August, the third-highest monthly total this year.
According to the latest state report, August’s revenue figure was the highest since May, when MI online casino operators cleared $198.6 million. The year’s highest revenue total came in March when operators kept $215.2 million from players.
Monthly revenue jumped nearly 30% from August 2023, when operators produced $152.2 million.
Michigan online casino leaders
BetMGM led all MI online casino operators with $52.5 million in August revenue, good for 27% of the market.
FanDuel earned a 25% share with $48.4 million in monthly revenue. DraftKings was the only other MI online casino app with a double-digit share, clearing $36.6 million in August for 19% of the market.
FanDuel and DraftKings are mainstays at the top of most US sports betting markets, including Michigan, where BetMGM is typically the third most popular online sportsbook each month.
Other popular apps
BetRivers earned $13 million in Michigan online casino revenue for August.
The total was good for nearly 7% of the market, just ahead of Caesars, which produced $12.6 million.
Golden Nugget and Hollywood Casino were the next two largest revenue producers in August, with $7.4 million and $4.3 million, respectively.
US online casino markets
Given its population, Michigan, along with Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is one of the three largest online casino markets in the US.
The six states to report August online casino revenue combined for roughly $693 million.

Online casino gambling is also legal in Rhode Island.
Online casino taxes
The state collected $50.7 million in online gaming taxes on the operator’s $196.7 million August revenue total.
The single-month total from August is more than triple the total taxes collected so far this year from Michigan sportsbooks.
