August was a record-setting month for NJ online casino operators as they cleared a combined $198.4 million in revenue, the highest monthly total ever.
According to the latest revenue report, the August total was up nearly 28% from last year when NJ online casinos won $155.3 million.
The previous monthly high was $197.2 million, set earlier this year in March. This is the fourth time in the last seven months that online casino revenue in New Jersey surpassed $190 million.
NJ online casino leaders
Much like their online sports betting verticals, DraftKings and FanDuel top the online casino market in New Jersey.
DraftKings produced $43.2 million in August revenue, while FanDuel cleared $41.3 million.
BetMGM and Borgata were next on the revenue list with $22.2 million and $20.3 million, respectively. Caesars Palace was the only other online operator to earn more than $10 million during the month with $14 million in August revenue.
Year-to-date revenue up vs. 2023
Behind a record-setting August, New Jersey online casino winnings reached $1.52 billion for the year. The total is up nearly 23% compared to the first eight months of 2023, when operators generated $1.24 billion.
Annual revenue for DraftKings was $330.1 million through August, while FanDuel has won $315 million. BetMGM has won nearly $180 million so far this year.
New Jersey online casino regulators did not break out individual operator revenue last year.
Brick-and-mortar revenue mostly flat
While NJ online casino revenue continues to outpace last year’s figures, land-based Atlantic City casinos are not experiencing as much of a boost.
The nine casino hotels won $294 million in August, a 4% increase from the $280.3 million combined win in August 2023.
Through August, Atlantic City casinos have won $1.92 billion, less than $3.5 million off last year’s revenue total at this point in the year.
