NCAA Preview: Duke vs. Florida State, Odds, Betting Lines, Props & Injury Report

Championship-hopeful Florida State looking to win at home against Duke

Heading into college football week 8, we have an ACC battle between two of the top teams in the conference as Florida State hosts Duke. Florida State is 6-0 on the season, and Duke is 5-1. Duke’s lone loss came at home against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who also recently beat the USC Trojans

Both teams are coming off a Week 7 win, with Duke beating NC State at home 24-3 and Florida State dismantling Syracuse 41-3. Heading into this game, we’ll await the status of Blue Devils quarterback Riley Leonard. He missed the game against NC State dealing with an injured ankle.

Duke gets help with Riley Leonard

The Blue Devils are an underdog by more than two touchdowns at some of the best college football betting sites, and they’ll likely need a few phases of the game to go correctly for them to win. First, Leonard suiting up. He provides a lot of running the ball — 338 yards and four touchdowns this year. Additionally, the Blue Devils’ defense allows just 10.4 points per game, which may come in handy against a Florida State offense that scores just under 50 points per game at home. A key matchup could be Blue Devils cornerback Myles Jones against Florida State wide receivers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman

Florida State’s best chances likely include Travis & Coleman

Speaking of Coleman, he and quarterback Jordan Travis are a big part of Florida State’s plans each game. In Week 7, Travis threw for just under 290 yards and a touchdown, and Coleman caught that touchdown and nine passes for just under 150 yards. Travis will face a stout Blue Devils defense here, and Jones is one of the top cornerbacks in the country.
