Miami Dolphins Wild Card Injury Report — Jevon Holland Likely To Sit

Dolphins looking to upset on the road against top-dog Eagles

Heading into Week 7 of the NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins will face each other in perhaps the week’s marquee betting matchup. The two teams are each 5-1 and will meet on Sunday Night Football. The Eagles were undefeated heading into Week 6 when they lost on the road to the New York Jets. The Dolphins, meanwhile, won at home against the Carolina Panthers, 42-21, after initially being down 14-0.

Dolphins’ defense may need to step up

While the Dolphins’ offense continues to be the best in the league on a points-per-game basis, the team has allowed 26 points per game so far, which ranks 26th in the league. The Eagles, meanwhile, have allowed 20.7 points per game. As for offense, the Dolphins have scored 37.2 points per game, while the Eagles are at 25.8.

Against another 5-1 team, the Dolphins may end up needing to make some plays to prevent the Eagles from scoring in bunches. Miami’s coverage unit has allowed 10.4 yards per reception and eight passing touchdowns this season.

Dolphins’ likely path to victory includes Hill & Waddle

As always, the Dolphins’ path to scoring likely runs through the team’s wide receivers — Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Hill has caught 42 passes for 814 yards and six touchdowns through six games, and Waddle, who caught a touchdown in Week 6, has 24 receptions for 296 yards and two TDs through five games this season. Against this Eagles cornerback group, which features Josh Jobe and James Bradberry with Darius Slay still questionable, they’ll face a coverage unit that has allowed 11 passing touchdowns, with five coming from Jobe and Bradberry.
