The US Women’s National Team comes into this tournament as the favorite to win a third consecutive World Cup title. The squad enters this tournament missing some key players due to injuries, but that’s the case for all the top contenders. This will be the first time these two teams have met in international competition, but Vietnam’s recent friendlies against New Zealand and Spain earlier this month resulted in lopsided shutout losses.
