DraftKings handled $488.5 million, or 42%, of all mobile NY sports betting dollars in June, marking the first time it handled more money than rival FanDuel in a single month in the Empire State.
On the back of multiple weeks at number one last month, DraftKings Sportsbook saw its handle increase 81% compared to June 2022 ($270.2 million.)

FanDuel NY sports betting handle drop
FanDuel Sportsbook took in the most money during June’s final week, ending the month with $418.1 million in handle and 36% of the market.
According to figures recently released by the New York State Gaming Commission, FanDuel saw its overall handle drop 12% compared to June last year ($472.8 million.)
Caesars Sportsbook was the only other NY betting app to earn a double-digit market share at 11%, handling $124.8 million.
June is typically a slower month with fewer events on the sports betting calendar. Professional baseball, tennis, and golf betting are some of the most popular options during the summer without NFL betting.
Revenue streak continues
New York sportsbooks generated $103.8 million in June revenue, the 11th consecutive month with revenue surpassing the $100 million mark. Operators combined for more than $1.5 billion in revenue since August 2022.
With its 51% tax rate, New York State collected nearly $53 million in sports betting taxes in June.
Faster than a NY sports betting minute
New York’s lifetime sports betting handle surpassed $25 billion in June.
Taking 18 months, New York is the fastest market to reach the milestone.
New Jersey ($38.2 billion) and Nevada ($33 billion) have also eclipsed $25 billion in lifetime handle.
June by the numbers
In June, New York sports betting handle topped out at $1.16 billion online. It is an 11% annual bump over the $1.05 billion bet last June.
During the year’s second quarter (April through June,) New York sports betting handle topped more than $4 billion. That is a 10% increase over last year when sports betting in New York accounted for $3.7 billion.
