Quick answer: Is Gemini Prediction Markets legit?

Yes. Gemini Prediction Markets runs through Gemini Titan, LLC, a CFTC-registered Designated Contract Market since Dec. 10, 2025, with trades cleared by Gemini Olympus, LLC, a separate CFTC-registered clearinghouse. Testing found a well-built platform with real depth outside sports, an overall score of 4.1/5, Banking as the clear standout (4.9/5), and Customer Support as the one real limiter (3.3/5).

The strongest case for Gemini’s prediction markets is what happens once money is moving. A tested crypto withdrawal in about 20 minutes, a fee that’s easy to look up after the fact, and clean fills on both a busy and a quiet market all back that up. The honest caveat is support. I never received a reply to a real support email within 72 hours, and live chat is not available on the platform at all.

What is Gemini Prediction Markets?

Gemini sports league navigation

Gemini, the crypto exchange, built Gemini Prediction Markets as its entry into the prediction markets category, offering event contracts on real-world outcomes rather than fixed-payout bets. Inside the app, the product is named Gemini Predictions, and that is the name used throughout this review when referring to the specific feature.

The product runs on Gemini Titan, a CFTC-registered exchange, with contracts settling in cash, not crypto, even though Gemini’s broader business is crypto-native. See LSR’s full prediction markets hub for how it stacks up against every other platform we track.

Evidence of what I tested and learned about Gemini Predictions

Welcome offer claimed and verified I traded $4.26 on a Pro Football market and received $2.13 in Promo Cash immediately, a clean 50% match. Our 3.4 Promotions score
A full count of live markets across eight categories I counted 837 live markets, with Sports alone topping 515. Our 4.1 Market Coverage score

Gemini Predictions welcome offer and promotions: 3.4/5

A welcome offer is only as good as what it actually costs to unlock. Gemini’s current welcome offer matches new users’ first Pro Football trades at 50%, up to $100.

Field Detail
Welcome offer 50% Trade Match on Pro Football trades, up to $100
Unlock requirement $200 in qualifying trade volume, odds between 20% and 80%
Existing-user version Same 50% back, capped at $50
Expiration 30 days after issuance
Promo Cash restrictions Non-withdrawable, usable only on eligible Predictions contracts
Gemini Predictions promo code None required

To earn the full $100, a trader needs $200 in qualifying Pro Football trades, each one priced at between 20 and 80 cents on the dollar. My first order cost $4.26, a bet that Indianapolis would not win by more than 3.5 points, and $2.13 in Promo Cash posted immediately. Smaller volumes still pay out: $50 traded returns $25, $100 traded returns $50, and anything above $200 caps at $100.

I found three distinct ongoing offers. Beyond the Pro Football match above, there’s a Midterms Rewards promo paying $10 Promo Cash on a $20-plus qualifying trade, and a Refer a Friend program tied to Gemini’s broader crypto exchange rather than Predictions specifically. Promo Cash cannot be withdrawn and does not count toward Gemini’s other exchange rewards.

A strong number, narrowed by one restriction

For a trader focused on Pro Football, Gemini’s $100 maximum stands out. OG.com pays only $10 after $10 in qualifying volume, and Crypto.com‘s comparable match caps at $10. Existing users keep access too, just at a lower $50 ceiling, a detail competitors do not always match.

The odds restriction is the real catch. Promo Cash only counts on contracts priced between 20% and 80%, which rules out lopsided favorites and longshots. The ongoing slate is thinner than some competitors. For example, Crypto.com runs a wider rotation of recurring promos through its own Promo Center.

Why I rated Gemini Predictions promotions 3.4/5

A genuinely strong headline number, undercut by an odds restriction on how the credit can be used and a thin slate of ongoing offers beyond the headline match.

What you can trade on Gemini Predictions: 4.1/5

Before trading anywhere, it helps to know how much is actually available and whether each market’s outcome gets decided fairly. Gemini offers 837 live markets across eight categories.

Category Live count
Sports 515
Politics 221
Climate/Weather 49
Crypto 26
Economics & Business 12
Geopolitics/World Events 7
Culture/Entertainment 5
Tech & Science 2

Sports carries most of the depth. Seven leagues had at least five active markets at once, enough for a trader to check back regularly rather than finding an empty page: NFL (224), NCAA Football (159), MLB (40), Soccer (35), NHL (20), MMA/UFC (20) and WNBA (5). Sixteen other leagues, including NBA, Tennis and Golf, had fewer than five live markets or none at all.

Who actually decides who wins

Every market eventually resolves based on something real happening, a game ending or a report being published. What matters to a trader is whether Gemini names a specific, independent source for that decision, rather than deciding the outcome itself. I checked 16 markets across all eight categories, and 15 of 16 named a clear, trustworthy source. The one exception was a Zcash security market, where the named source still requires a human judgment call rather than a simple yes-or-no check.

Gemini has no separate Other or Novelty category, though it does list custom event contracts inside its existing categories. Traders cannot create their own markets here.

Deep in sports, thin in the rest

Gemini’s 515 sports markets are real depth, concentrated in NFL and NCAA Football. Kalshi runs a similarly top-heavy sports profile but also lists active markets in Tennis, Cricket, and Rugby that Gemini does not offer. Outside sports, Gemini’s Politics category leans almost entirely on the current Midterms cycle: just 20 of 221 live questions covered Presidential, Congressional, Local, Courts, and International markets combined.

Why I rated Gemini Predictions market coverage 4.1/5

Real, broad category coverage and near-perfect transparency about who actually decides each outcome, limited by how concentrated both Sports and Politics are around whatever is topical right now.

Gemini Predictions deposits, withdrawals and fees: 4.9/5

A wide market selection means little if your money moves slowly getting in or out. I tested a real crypto withdrawal and had it confirmed in roughly 20 minutes.

Method Deposit? Withdraw? Fee Speed (tested)
ACH/bank transfer Yes Yes Free 4-5 business days in; same/next business day out
Debit card Yes No 3.49% Instant purchase
Credit card Yes No Not published Instant purchase
Apple Pay/Google Pay Yes No 3.49% Instant purchase
Wire transfer Yes Yes Free in; $25 out Same/next business day
Cryptocurrency Yes Yes Free in; variable network fee out 70 minutes in, 20 minutes out (both tested)

Gemini supported deposit assets

Gemini takes a small cut on every trade, and the exact amount varies with the odds rather than being a fixed percentage. That fee does not show on the order ticket before confirming. It shows up after, inside Transaction History, behind an info icon next to the total. My own test order carried a $0.07 fee inside a $1.00 total, a real number worth checking for yourself before relying on any number published elsewhere.

Gemini pays no interest on cash sitting idle in your account. There is no hard limit on how much you can hold open at once, though combined positions worth more than $25,000 draw extra scrutiny from Gemini. Prices move in 2-cent steps, not fractions of a cent.

I deposited with Litecoin, and it took longer than I expected, over 70 minutes to land. The withdrawal moved faster: Gemini processed it in about 20 minutes, and the funds were confirmed in my external wallet minutes later.

A slow way in, a fast way out

Gemini covers nearly every common way to fund an account, and ACH links a US bank directly through Plaid, with no manual routing numbers required. Cards and digital wallets only buy contracts directly. They do not load a withdrawable balance, and unlike Kalshi, none of Gemini’s card or wallet methods work for withdrawals.

I went with crypto for my own test, sending Litecoin between wallets before converting it to cash for contracts. The deposit took longer than expected, though Gemini marked it as processing right away, so I was never left wondering if something had gone wrong. The withdrawal was the better experience: processed in about 20 minutes, confirmed in my wallet shortly after.

Why I rated Gemini Predictions banking 4.9/5

Fast and cheap on every method I tested, with a fee that’s genuinely easy to look up, held back only slightly by a slower-than-expected crypto deposit and a fee that only surfaces after a trade confirms.

What it costs to trade on Gemini Predictions: 4.7/5

Seeing a screen price and actually getting it when you click buy are two different things. I ran a real $10 trade on two markets, one busy and one barely trading, to see what it actually costs to get in and back out. The busy market cost 2.9% of that $10 by the time I bought in and sold back out, money lost just from trading, separate from any fee.

Gemini does not display per-market 24-hour volume, so I used its own volume-sort feature to find a busy pick: an Ether price market. My quiet pick was a current-week NFL matchup, Atlanta vs. New Orleans, sorted near the bottom of that same list.

Market Best bid (size) Best ask (size)
Busy (Ether) 77 cents ($77) 78 cents ($1,063.14)
Quiet (Atlanta vs. New Orleans) 45 cents ($1,119.15) 46 cents ($846.59)

Both trades filled at exactly the price I saw on screen, with no hidden gap between the quote and what I actually paid. My Ether trade bought 12.61 shares betting the price would hit $2,750 for $9.99, and my Atlanta trade bought 20.93 shares betting Atlanta would win for the same $9.99.

Gemini Ether prediction placed at 78 percent
Gemini Atlanta prediction placed at 46 percent

I sold the Ether position 28 minutes later at about 77 cents, receiving $9.70, a 2.9% round-trip cost on the $10 test. The Atlanta position stayed open a full day. When I checked back, the top prices had barely moved, but the size behind them had: the 46-cent ask dropped from $846.59 to just $11.50. I still sold my full position at 45 cents, the exact price shown, for $9.41.

Gemini pays outside firms to help keep its markets active, which is likely why both of my trades filled so cleanly. A Market Maker Program rewards firms that keep both a buy and a sell price available at all times. A Liquidity Rewards Program pays out daily cash for keeping prices tight, and a Maker Rebate Program pays traders back for orders that sit on the board waiting to be matched, priced between 20 and 80 cents.

Why I rated Gemini Predictions liquidity 4.7/5

A quoted price that held up on both a crowded and a thinning market, at a modest, consistent cost either way, with real liquidity-incentive programs behind the scenes.

Gemini Predictions customer service: 3.3/5

This is where the platform fell short. I never received a reply to a real support question in 72 hours, and live chat is not a feature on the platform at all.

Gemini lists three official contact methods: a support request form, email, and postal mail, as well as a phone line reserved for special cases rather than general support.

Contact method Notes
Support form/email 24/7 staffing claimed; support@gemini.com also works directly
Postal mail Gemini Trust Company, LLC, 600 Third Avenue, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10016
Phone Special cases only, arranged by email first; Credit Card customers get a separate 24/7 line
Gemini Predictions support form

I tested for live chat twice, at different times, and found no such feature either time. I submitted a real support ticket and still had no reply 72 hours later.

The attempt itself was not smooth. My mobile submission failed three separate times before the same request went through instantly on desktop.

A dedicated disputes path does exist, separate from general support. A trader must send a formal Notice of Dispute to Gemini’s legal team before an outside arbitration firm, FedArb, is involved.

Gemini routes disputes through binding arbitration under Section 18 of its agreement.

Why support let the platform down

Luckily, I never had a real account problem that needed support during testing. I contacted Gemini only to test response quality for this review, and three days later I was still waiting. The attempt itself was the bigger issue: the mobile contact form did not submit, three times in a row, before the same request worked immediately on desktop.

I prefer Kalshi‘s approach, where an automated chat still gives a trader the option to escalate to a real person. Gemini skips that step entirely. There is no live chat at all, only a support form and the hope of a reply. One real positive: Gemini runs a public status page showing live service health and a dated incident log, so a trader can at least rule out a platform-wide problem before waiting on support.

Why I rated Gemini Predictions customer support 3.3/5

No live chat, a mobile contact form that failed three times, and no reply to a real question after three days. That’s a genuine weak point compared to competitors that keep a human reachable.

Gemini Predictions app and responsible trading tools: 3.9/5

The app itself held up well, with a 4.8-star rating from roughly 110,000 App Store ratings and 3.9 stars from 55,300 Google Play reviews, though Trustpilot tells a different story at 1.3 stars from 1,509 reviews.

Core trading stayed consistent between mobile and desktop, though desktop fit more sorting options and more markets on screen at once. A deliberate typo search for “atlnata” still surfaced the Atlanta vs. New Orleans market near the top of the results.

Across five testing sessions, the app force-closed twice. A cold launch to a usable markets list took about five seconds, and I hit a few blank loading screens on an older iPhone that newer devices did not reproduce.

Responsible Trading tool Present?
Deposit/funding limit No
Loss or exposure limit No
Session/elapsed-time reminder No
Cool-off/trading break No
Self-exclusion No
Education/crisis-line signposting No
Age verification Yes, 18+, ID plus a biometric face scan

Gemini separates withdrawable cash from funds locked in open positions on its Home screen, though its side menu inconsistently excludes crypto balances from that same total. A full trade history with running profit and loss is available, along with a 1099-MISC tax form.

That form still shows a $600 reporting threshold, which should read $2,000 under current guidance. Account closure is self-service, and two-factor authentication includes an authenticator app, passkeys, and hardware keys.

Gemini does not say it actively watches for risky trading patterns and steps in, though it offers an optional tool letting advanced users set their own rules for how much risk they are willing to take on.

Margin and credit-funded positions are not offered, though a linked credit card can fund a purchase directly. Gamification is minimal: a progress track tied to the football promo is the only mechanic I found.

Gemini prediction trade history

A well-built app with real gaps in trader protection

As software, Gemini Prediction Markets is genuinely user-friendly. Every tap felt nearly immediate, and account creation took no time at all, with a new email or a Google or Apple sign-in available. Later logins got faster through a passkey.

Responsible trading is the real weak spot. Gemini offers general risk disclosures and discusses regulatory oversight, but I did not find a single dedicated, user-facing safeguard a trader might expect. Fanatics Markets, for comparison, offers self-exclusion, cooling-off periods, deposit controls, and session reminders. Only age verification is in place here.

Why I rated Gemini Predictions user experience and responsible trading 3.9/5

A fast, well-built app, held back by only one of the seven Responsible Trading tools we check for actually being present.

Is Gemini Prediction Markets legal and safe?

Gemini Titan, LLC operates Gemini Prediction Markets, registered with the CFTC as a Designated Contract Market since Dec. 10, 2025, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gemini Space Station, Inc. Gemini Olympus, LLC is the separate, CFTC-registered clearinghouse that guarantees both sides of a trade actually get paid. A trader deals directly with Gemini Titan, with no separate broker or middleman firm holding the account.

Regulatory and legal history: Gemini Titan received its CFTC Designated Contract Market status on Dec. 10, 2025. On April 21, 2026, the New York Attorney General sued Gemini Titan, alleging that Gemini Predictions constituted unlicensed gambling and unauthorized sports wagering, a case that remains unresolved on the merits. Days later, on April 29 and May 1, 2026, Gemini Olympus became Titan’s registered clearinghouse, and CFTC staff granted limited no-action relief from certain reporting requirements. There has been other state-specific litigation as well. For example, in September 2026, Connecticut issued an order for Gemini to stop offering sports contracts.

Gemini Titan appears in the CFTC’s own public register as a Designated Contract Market. The two contracts I tested were both listed because Gemini itself decided they qualified, not because the CFTC specifically signed off on each one: a sports contract filed Jan. 29, 2026, and a crypto contract filed Feb. 20, 2026. That is standard practice across this industry, not unique to Gemini.

I tested from Texas, where the platform operated without any access issues. The stated minimum age is 18.

Customer funds sit in a segregated Member Account at Gemini Olympus, which Gemini’s rulebook requires to be held separately and treated as belonging to the member. Neither SIPC nor FDIC coverage is stated for that account. Separately, regular US dollar balances held elsewhere in Gemini’s broader app may carry FDIC pass-through coverage at a linked bank, a different protection tied to a different product.

Gemini’s terms allow it to change contract specifications after the first day of trading if a material issue affects the underlying data, and to adjust or cancel trades after a platform malfunction or an erroneous order. Disputes go through binding arbitration under Section 18 of the agreement. Gemini does not issue a Predictions-specific tax form, and states plainly that it offers no tax advice.

My verdict on Gemini Prediction Markets

Gemini Prediction Markets is a well-built product backed by a real, CFTC-registered exchange, with genuine breadth across eight categories rather than a sports-only focus. Placing predictions for Gemini’s busiest markets cost next to nothing to test, and the same held for a market nobody was trading.

The strengths are real. A tested crypto withdrawal landed in about 20 minutes, and the trading fee is easy to look up after the fact. A $10 trade cost under 3% to buy in and sell back out on a crowded market, and under 6% on a thinner one, both filling at the exact price shown on screen with no hidden slippage. The welcome offer’s $100 ceiling exceeds that of several named competitors.

The weaknesses are just as real. Support never answered a real question in 72 hours, live chat does not exist, and only one of seven Responsible Trading tools is in place. The welcome offer’s odds restriction and the in-app 1099 threshold error are smaller, but worth knowing before signing up.

Overall score: 4.1/5. Gemini Prediction Markets suits a trader who wants a broad, fast, low-cost platform and does not expect to need support. A trader who values dedicated trader-protection tools, or a responsive human on the other end of a question, should weigh that gap first.

Gemini Prediction Markets FAQ

Is Gemini Prediction Markets legit?

Yes. It runs through Gemini Titan, LLC, a CFTC-registered Designated Contract Market, with customer funds held in a segregated account at a separate, CFTC-registered clearinghouse.

Is Gemini Prediction Markets legal in my state?

Testing took place legally from Texas. Check state availability directly with Gemini before trading.

How much does it cost to trade on Gemini Predictions?

A small fee that varies by trade rather than sitting at one flat rate, which worked out to $0.07 on a $1 order in testing. Buying in and selling back out cost 2.9% on a busy market and nothing on a quiet one.

How fast can I withdraw money from Gemini Predictions?

A tested crypto withdrawal was confirmed in about 20 minutes. Regular dollar withdrawal speeds depend on the method, typically same or next business day.

Is there a Gemini Predictions promo code?

No. The 50% Trade Match on Pro Football trades, up to $100, applies automatically.

How liquid are Gemini’s prediction markets?

Gemini runs a real buy/sell order book, meaning prices come from other traders, not a formula. In testing, both a busy and a quiet market filled at the exact price shown on screen, with nothing extra lost to a worse price.

Can I lose money on Gemini Predictions?

Yes, a trader can lose what they trade, but not more than that. Gemini does not offer margin or credit-funded positions, as confirmed in testing.
