Player props for 49ers vs. Rams
How Jordan Mason could get over 1.5 touchdowns
The Rams enter Week 2 as one of the worst teams in the league against the run. Specifically against running backs, Los Angeles is allowing 31 carries for 154.5 yards and 1.5 touchdowns per game.
The 49ers are favored here on the road against a Rams team that’s without several offensive pieces, headlined by Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. With Christian McCaffrey sidelined, Mason has been used plenty, rushing 48 times for 247 yards and two touchdowns to start the year.
How Jordan Mason could get under 1.5 touchdowns
While Mason is averaging 24 carries for roughly 125 yards and one touchdown per game, the San Francisco 49ers haven’t used him much in the passing game. Through Week 2, he has two catches for nine yards.
Mason could reach two touchdowns solely on the ground, but the lack of receiving ability does eliminate one potential source for touchdown scoring.
How Demarcus Robinson could get over 50 receiving yards
With Nacua and Kupp sidelined, Robinson could be poised to be the go-to target for Matthew Stafford.
Through two games, Robinson has 10 targets, six receptions, and 92 yards. He saw seven targets in Week 1 and had 42 yards. In Week 2, he caught just two passes but had 50 yards. He’s averaging 15.3 yards per catch and leads the team in receiving snaps with 75.
How Demarcus Robinson could get under 50 receiving yards
Robinson has been used on the field more than any other Rams wide receiver, but Stafford will have other options like Tyler Johnson and Tutu Atwell.
Atwell hasn’t seen the field much (14 receiving snaps), but when he’s on the field, he’s been targeted, seeing four. He’s seeing a target on 28.6% of his receiving snaps. As for Johnson, he’s had nearly 20 fewer receiving snaps than Robinson but has more catches, targets, and yards.
