A new online operator is heading to WV sports betting.
VIP Play announced last week that it had entered a deal with Delaware North to operate WV sports betting and online casino gambling.
“We appreciate Delaware North’s access to the wonderful state of West Virginia,” VIP Play CEO Bruce Cassidy said. “This is an ideal market for VIP Play, Inc. to expand into as part of our US expansion efforts. We welcome the addition of online casino — ‘iGaming’ — to our list of offerings within the US and are excited to bring the VIP Play mobile app to West Virginia residents and visitors in 2025.”
The platform is part of Tennessee sports betting under the ZenSports brand.
VIP Play WV sports betting deal
VIP Play enters the West Virginia market through Delaware North’s Wheeling Island Casino. Each West Virginia casino licensee can partner with up to three branded skins.
The entry into West Virginia also provides VIP Play its first market with legal online casino gambling.
As part of the agreement, Delaware North will receive an undisclosed amount of VIP Play’s online gaming revenue.
Delaware North also operates its Betly platform in West Virginia. That sportsbook is a partnership with Playtech.
VIP Play expansion
According to the release, VIP Play will begin expanding across the US sports betting landscape in 2025.
VIP Play plans to launch in West Virginia before the 2025 college football betting season. It expects to have a new branded and designed app for the Tennessee market, as well.
Earlier this fall, VIP Play partnered with Kambi Group to power its sportsbook.
“This partnership with Kambi is a pivotal step for VIP Play, Inc. as we work towards establishing a premier sportsbook presence in the US,” Cassidy said in November. “Kambi’s market-leading technology, and our internal ability to build proprietary technology on top of the Kambi platform, will enable us to deliver a first-class, interactive sports betting experience and a mutually beneficial partnership for years to come.”
