BetMGM made a move this week that could help make it the top online poker destination.
BetMGM announced that it merged its online poker player pools in Michigan and New Jersey. The company filed the paperwork in May, and the Michigan Gaming Control Board granted the approval this month under the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement.
Michigan joined MSIGA in 2022, along with New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware, and West Virginia. PokerStars and WSOP also offer shared poker tables in Michigan and New Jersey.
“This authorization represents a significant step forward in the development of online gaming within our state boundaries,” MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said in a release. “We are confident that the partnership with BetMGM will enhance the gaming experience for Michigan players and drive growth in the industry.”

Online poker grows
Rush Street Interactive recently launched its BetRivers Poker in the Pennsylvania online casino market. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has instructed the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to negotiate into MSIGA.
While part of MSIGA, Delaware and West Virginia do not have active poker platforms. The Delaware online casino market is exclusively operated by BetRivers.
Meanwhile, a Texas cardroom, Texas Card House Social, is beta testing an online poker site, Hijack Poker.
