How Cam Rising could get 25+ rushing yards

In 2023, the Bears allowed the Utes 224 rushing yards. Rising didn’t play, but quarterbacks Nate Johnson and Bryson Barnes had 53 rushing yards.

In Week 1 against Southern Utah, Rising had 25 rushing yards on four carries. Over his career, Rising has 17 games with 25 rushing yards or more.

How Cam Rising could miss 25+ rushing yards

Over his last five starts, Rising has fallen short of 25 yards twice, and in Week 1 of this season, he finished with exactly 25.

This will be Rising’s second start since coming back from injury, and he’ll face a defense that allowed 254.3 passing yards per game (104th) last season. This could result in Rising utilizing his arm more than his legs.

How Cam Rising could get 200+ passing yards

As mentioned, the Bears averaged around 254 passing yards allowed in 2023, and this defense has nine starters from last year. In Week 1, Rising threw for 254 yards. Over his last five starts, he has had two games with fewer than 200 passing yards. In his career, he’s appeared in 28 games and has 15 games with 200 yards or more.

How Cam Rising could miss 200+ passing yards

Rising had 254 passing yards in Week 1, but that was against an FCS program. The Bears’ defense, against an FCS team, held their quarterback to just 80 passing yards.

The Bears allowed over 100 rushing yards to Tarleton State in Week 1, and with the Utes appearing as 15.5-point favorites at numerous college football betting sites, running back Dijon Stanley could see plenty of work after the Utes take a lead.
