What Happened to Golden Nugget Sportsbook?

Golden Nugget opened its online sportsbook in New Jersey in February 2019 under the license of the Golden Nugget casino in Atlantic City. It expanded to Michigan in January 2021 through a partnership with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, then reached West Virginia, with The Greenbrier as its partner, and Virginia in the fall of 2021.

That growth stopped when DraftKings agreed to buy Golden Nugget Online Gaming in 2021. The deal closed in May 2022, and DraftKings soon wound down the Golden Nugget sportsbook. Virginia bettors lost access to new wagers and deposits that month, and customers in the other states were shifted to DraftKings Sportsbook. Planned launches in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Louisiana and Ontario never happened.
